13 Day of Halloween: Spooky Eyes

Press Sample

More Halloween! This time, I did a super simple manicure inspired by a cake I saw at Magnolia Bakery. This was a super simple cake with rosettes and giant eyes! I loved it! I took a picture, but may have deleted it because I could not find it. But then I saw it's on their site if you want it (lol!).

So I didn't have a way to do rosettes so I decided to do some texture polish. I pulled out an oldie texture polish and just sort of dry brushed it all over the nail and over some eyes. I could have maybe dabbed it to look more like a furry monster, but hey, it is what it is. I just want to share fun festive art!

The colors were super simple!

  • Orange Base: Jessica Cosmetics Sahara Sun, 2 coats
  • Orange Texture: Julie G Tangerine Dream
  • White: KBShimmer White Here White Now
  • Black: Girly Bits it's definitely him

Then I matted the look. Usually, I top coat then wait and matte top coat. But I wanted the eyes to smudge so they would look more creepy, so I went right in with matte top coat.

I thought about making the eyes bloodshot and adding red lines, but I don't know, it was kind of yucky and I like mysterious or cutesy Halloween, and not gore and gross Halloween. This sort of reminds me of Ah Real Monsters monsters, lol!

So there you have it. Super simple! Yet, also kinda creepy!
