Christmas Plaid Nail Art

 Press Sample

I loved my autumn plaid back in October so much that I knew immediately after doing it that I would want to redo it for Christmas and Hanukkah. So up first I have the Christmas version and I’m so excited because I got to use one of the new KBShimmer holiday polishes which had the perfect Christmas pine green in it. So let’s take a look.

Like all nail art, I grovel over color selection. I had to narrow it down to 3 red cremes, 3 green cremes, then the red shimmers. Also, I originally was going to use KBShimmer Say It Ain't Cilantro, which is a lighter green reflective. Then after I swatched the Northern Exposure collection, I knew Logging Off needed to be the green.

I also went with a pale pink base! I thought it would mix it up and change up the stark white.

  • Pale pink: Jessica Cosmetics Hydrangea, 3 thin coats
  • Shimmery red: Girly Bits Cosmetics Because I Cran, 2 coats
  • Reflective green: KBShimmer Logging Off, 2 coats
  • Red cream: Zoya Ming
  • Green cream: Zoya Wyatt

To create the plaid look, I start with the biggest line first, which was the shimmery red. I used the polish brush to create that. Then I added the red creme, since I knew darker colors were next. For these lines and the rest, I used a striping brush. Then I added the dark green creme. Finally, the reflective green.

Of course, I took pictures like 5 day after I did this nail art. So typical of me!

Here it is with flash! I had to show off the reflective nature of the polishes and how the accent line in the plaid is so pretty! I love the reflective in normal lighting too though. It's just such a pretty green!

So there you have it! I love this plaid look and the accents. Plus, it's so easy to do!
