Christmas Cat in Stocking Nail Art

Press Sample

Hello all! Today’s look is another one that was on my Pinterest nail art inspiration board for a really long time. I know it’s a really long time because I took a picture of it in a Papyrus store. The stores closed in 2020 right before the pandemic and boy do I miss them. I always used to buy cards there for holidays and birthdays. I believe this image was on a gift bag, and I knew I wanted to recreate it!

I liked the moody green background but I admit, I was super nervous how much the green would stain my nails. I looked at my original swatch post and no mentions. Well, happy to mention no staining on my nail bed and just a bit on my cuticles upon removal. Now, I can wear this green again care-free. I also wore it for a week, so a nice long time.

I did two coats of the green base and then added dots and super simple snowflakes. I thought of stamping the snowflakes but the gift bag had these simple ones and I loved the look of it. Then I sketched the cat in the same green! It helps to do it in the same color, because if there is a mistake, then no one can see. After the sketch, I added in the cat's face, then the hat, then the stocking!

Here are the colors I used for this look:

  • Green Base: Zoya Wyatt
  • Orange: Lechat Dare to Wear Felicity
  • Lighter Pink: Jessica Cosmetics Center Stage
  • Darker Pink: Zoya Padma
  • Bright Red: Zoya Margaret
  • Darker Red: Zoya Pepper
  • Soft White (cat’s face): Stella Chroma High Noon
  • Bright White: KBShimmer White Here White Now
  • Black: Stella Chroma New Moon

I love the darker colors with the bright white. I love the calico cat too, since those are my favorite!

Isn’t this simple and cute? And it brings me back to how cute Papyrus was. Yes, they still sell cards in stores, but I loved having all their designs in one place!

Products in the post were provided for honest review.
