Jessica Indie Fest and Duri Retro Wave Comparisons

 Partial Press Sample

After I  swatched the Duri Retro Wave collection (gifted by a friend), I realized some of the colors I loved felt familiar. A quick look through my blog and Jessica Cosmetics (press sample) helmer drawer, and lo and behold, The Indie Fest collection came to mind. I swatched that collection back in April 2020 and Duri Retro Wave came out in Spring 2020 so let's see how they compare!

If you did not know, for mainstream polishes, there are only a handful of labs that provide colors for all the companies. YUP. So sometimes, brands pick similar colors for their collections as these labs provide the next trends. That's why you might notice similar colors being releases by China Glaze, OPI, Zoya, etc. So three of the colors are similar and I wanted to compare them. Companies make tweaks to the colors and change formulas, so while they could look the same in the bottle, they could appear differently on the nail!

Jessica Cosmetics Desert Dust (index and ring): 3 coats vs Duri Cosmetics Vinyl Records (middle and pinky): 2 coats.

This is a brown/taupe with golden shimmer. This Jessica formula was a bit thinner. The colors overall look similar if not the same. What do you think?

Jessica Cosmetics Bestie (index and ring): 3 coats vs Duri Cosmetics Cotton Candy Sky (middle and pinky): 2 coats.

This is a white-based polish with copper/red flecks. I would say the Jessica was slightly patchier because it is ever so slightly more white based and has slightly more fleck density. It is really difficult to tell in photos though...so really, they are the same. LOL.

Jessica Cosmetics Center Stage (index and ring): 3 coats vs Duri Cosmetics Diner Date (middle and pinky): 3 coats.

A bright coral creme. They are the same. I just cannot see a difference.

So there you have it. I like to do these comps because it also helps me cull my stash if they are exact and spread polish love to friends! Actually, I think my mom will love these, so there ya go!

You can find Jessica Cosmetics Indie Fest HERE and they retail for $9. You can find the Retro Wave collection HERE and they retail for $8 each.
