When I think of summer, I think of carnivals and fairs, so this month's Polish Pickup theme is so appropriate! When I'm at the carnival, I think of cotton candy and sweets, fun rides, and silly prizes, all of which are represented here!

Inspiration:
Chair Swing Rides. "
I chose a photo of a ride taken of people on a spinning thingy in chairs on chains, as the ride picks up speed the chairs are projected outward until they are almost perpendicular to the ground. I used to ride this thing as a kid and I'll be danged if I can remember the name of it!" All google told me was chair swing rides, LOL. But I loved that ride too!
Thoughts: The blue base is very much a gorgeous night sky! The photo she was inspired by was a night time photo of this ride. The blue base has blue shimmer and lots of gold holo glitter. The glitter lays nice and flat. Just look at that blue base! And in the sun, oh my.

Inspiration:
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Thoughts: This is a "glow in the dark metallic peach/light orange with purple and blue flakes." The metallic peach is something I haven't seen often and I really like it. There's a nice amount of flakes in this, but it doesn't detract from the base.

The glow would not cooperate for me. I'm not sure if the extreme heat and humidity we've been having (last week's heat index of 111 had me sweating doing the most basic tasks). I did put the whole bottle under a light and could see a charge, so maybe I didn't shake the bottle enough?

Mirror Mirror in the Stall: 2 coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: "
When I was a kid, going to little town fairs and carnivals was the
highlight of my summer. I remember begging so hard to play the games set
up in carnival stalls for a chance to win and make those shiny band
mirrors mine! Inspired by those paper-framed mirrors from the 80’s and
90’s."
Thoughts: This is a really shimmery and beautiful color. "M
irror Mirror In the Stall is loaded with micro holo flakes, adding so
much sparkle to this silvery shade. In lower light, the Aurora shimmer
we packed into this polish shows off shifts from gold, to pink, to green
and more." Ahhhh the shimmer in this! With every move, you'll see different colors. I tried to capture it, but it's sooo apparent in person. In fact, this is my current mani. The silvery base lets the shimmer shine!

Deep Fried Twinkle Emulsified Sugar Scrub

Scent: "
One of our favorite carnival treats are Deep Fried Twinkies. We first
got to experience these tasty treats at the Indiana State Fair. A sweet, creamy vanilla scent with a hint (ha ha!) of sugar."
Thoughts: I've never had a deep fried twinkie, but I feel like this smells spot on! It has that sweet vanilla smell with an undertone of fried dough scent! As always, I LOVE this scrub's formula and quality.

As a kid, the county fair was the best! The best ride at the fair was...
The Gravitron! The lights, the music... who didn’t love slowly turning
upside down while spinning at lightning speed and jamming to awesome
tunes? Even better if you’d won a stuffed animal to hang out on the of
next to yours."
Thoughts: Oh my this color. I loved it so much, I kept it on for days after I swatched it and eventually stamped over it. This is a "silver/green/purple multichrome with multiple colors of UCC flakies." This is soooo shifty! I even saw blue on my nails. And I loved the addition of flakes. Overall, this is a gorgeous and magical polish. I love it!
