Born Pretty Black Stamping Polish in Throne with 90s Stamping

Press Sample

Since I had a bunch of my Jessica Cosmetics polishes out while I was re-organizing, I grabbed a bunch of bright colors, my new Born Pretty Plate (L002) and a new Born Pretty stamping polish. I sat down and got to stamping to create this funky 90s look. I'll do another review of this plate, but I figured I would start with a two for one!

I'll be doing a full review of this plate in another post, but as usual, the plates come with a protective covering. The images are well-etched. There are 14 full size images on this plate, and they cover my long nails! I will note that the middle top image is NOT in the photo on the site. I won't ever use that man image lol.

I started with a base of Jessica Cosmetics Lavish (white) on three on my nails. Then I used Mojave Desert (pink), Yellow, Green, and Purple. Yes, those are the names of the polishes LOL. On my remaining 4 nails, I used each color on one nail.  So my pinky below is Green and my thumb was Mojave Desert.

I stamped the image with the Born Pretty Stamping polish and then filled in the squares. Then I put some sticky base coat on my nails and stamped on the images. As you can see, my top coat smudged the art. This is my life with stamping. No matter how much I float the top coat or how long I wait to top coat, black stamping polish hates me. LOL.

Honestly, this was one of those manicures that looked way better from afar. Up close, you can really see where the top coat smudged. I highly suggest waiting as long as possible before you top coat and I only waited about 5 minutes.

Born Pretty has stamping polishes in every color. The black is great--just be light with your top coat. You can purchase this polish HERE and it retails for $2.99. Don't forget that you can use PDX31 for 10% off your Born Pretty purchases.

  2. Oh, I didn’t even notice the smudging till you mentioned it. I have never tried stamping but it looks so complicated. I think your mani looks great regardless!

  3. I need someone in Michigan to give me lessons on stamping. This plate gave you a great way to show some unusual colors together.

  5. I love the 1990s, and this is such a cool mani. Bummer about the top coat smudging - this is my biggest problem with most nail art :(

  6. I am loving this pattern and color combo! Very 90's! Sucks about the top coat though, it is such a bummer when that happens!
