Born Pretty Wooden Shadow, Swatches and Review

Press Sample

I wanted to tackle a few of the Born Pretty items I received. One of the items I chose this round is a tri-thermal. I first tried one a few months ago and was pretty successful in seeing all three colors. I really wanted a spring color, so I chose the yellow based thermal! Yellow screams spring to me.

Wooden Shadow: 3 coats plus top coat. This one applied so sheer, I was like, it will never get opaque. But three coats really did the trick. Top coat leveled it all out nicely. This was a much better experience using their polish from the last polish I tried.

The yellow would be the warm state, grey in cold, and the green in between. I picked a pretty moderate day to wear this so I had to rely on cold water for the transition. Below is how the color looked naturally in a sort of warm room. As you can see, the yellow is more like a honeydew melon green. I think it definitely will be yellow in super warm weather.

Here you can see how my nails looked dipped in cold water. It really shows off the grey tips. What's fun about thermals is that if you're in air conditioning, you'll see the colder colors, and when you go outside, the warmer colors. I really do like this combination of colors. It's different from what I normally see.
