Sardine Nail Art, Take Two

Press Sample

I said I was coming back with another fish mani! This is a totally different color story from the one I posted back in May. This manicure also is more decorative vibes--like I want to see this on a dress or dishware while my other one was straight up, let's have dinner. So let's dive into this look!

So my friend asked me to do her nails and before I went to her house to do nail art, I did some practice on my nail mat and then taped over and put it on a white piece of paper. Then I brought this over and let her pick what she wanted on her nails. I put what she chose at the end of this post! Then of course after seeing it on her nails, I wanted a version of it on my nails!

I loved the floral nail but I had been doing so many florals (yes, I did these back in May omg) that I decided to skip it for this look and go a bit simpler (inspired by my friend actually). This sardine was much easier to paint than the other version I had on my piece of paper (I am so professional! haha).

Such a simple mani and it’s only three colors! I have to say this OPI is just one of my favorite polishes ever. The Jessica is also the perfect blue as it has just enough green in it to make it a perfect dark teal. I love that these are muted and almost autumnal yet work so well for a summer manicure! I get such Mediterranean vibes.

  • White: KBShimmer White Here White Now
  • Blue: Jessica Cosmetics Adios MF!
  • Orange: OPI Have Your Panettone and Eat it Too

I loved that swirly art on the pinky and thought about doing it on my thumb but then loved the orange and blue so much, I decided to add the blue accent nail too. Also, just a side note that this blue did not stain. YAY!

I wanted to share some indoor nails so you could see the orange. It is much brighter in the sun but deeper indoors. Yet somehow, I still think this look reads summer. I think it is the bright white base. I just love orange and blue together too. It is such a natural pairing in my mind.

Here is the nail art I did on my friend’s nails. Similar vibes, but we only stuck to the sardine for the nail arts as that is what she wanted. I liked the idea of an accent nail that she mentioned so I actually incorporated that into my nails. It definitely helped balance the look.

How many more fish nails can I do without it being too many fish nails? LOL!
