Neon Purple Nails with Rainbow Flakes

Press Sample

Ok well, I disappeared for a bit...continue reading for life updates. I swear that I get sick every single season now. I was sick again and having coughing fits, but I didn’t want naked nails because sometimes they break so much easier. For details on these nails and my life, continue reading!

So life is chaotic now and for the next four months, I am not sure how this blog will look. But if you're interested on life updates, here they are. If not, skip this numbered list!

  1. I was definitely poisoned by a student (lol) that left me with a horrible cough for 3 straight weeks. It was so so bad. Barely sleeping. Just exhausted.
  2. Because of said sickness, I fell behind with my work regarding my dissertation. I was just trying to finish up my summer classes without penalty and the sickness delayed me in my other work.
  3. Once I finally started feeling better, I delved into reading and research. I am finally at a point where my dissertation chair told me to stop and simply WRITE. And that is where I am as...
  4. I have completed drafts of two of my three chapters and working on the last one. I have a strict goal I have set for myself as my program requires we hit specific milestones in a specific order so this blog will be quiet PLUS...
  5. I have no nails. I think the sickness and the stress of being behind on my chapters caused me to neglect my nails. All broke. Well most, then I chopped them all off. They need time to grow. I am currently wearing Zoya Naked Manicure.

So this manicure is because I  knew I couldn't do nail art and wanted a simple nail look. I asked Mr. Ehmkay to pick a color for my nails and he chose purple. If you’ve read my blog long enough, you know that I really don’t do purple nails. And if I do, it’s usually a multi chrome or a darker moody purple. But I was not in the mood for a moody purple. I have been completely obsessed with Zoya Paisley, which was there May color of the month. So I slapped that on. Then I decided I needed a little more oomph so I reached for some topcoats and here we are.

The colors I used were:

  • Zoya Paisley
  • KBShimmer A Star is Formed
  • KBShimmer Ice and Easy

How easy is that? Omg, I am Ina Garten now! I love how these top coats just amp up a creme polish in a few minutes.

I do have four posts of nails that I want to post, but pictures are not cropped and I am just so behind. I hope my nails grow back quickly because they just look so sad!

  1. I'm sorry to hear you are sick again. Darn germy students 😂 I for one missed you. I actually love the look on you. Mrehmkay has good taste. I figured paisley on the toes but it looks amazing on your fingernails. I hope the rest of your summer treats you better. Thanks for sharing 💜
