Mardi Gras Sparkly Abstract Nail Art

 Press Sample

It's almost Mardi Gras! My idea is to post at least two manicures, so let's see. It's hard when holidays are back to back. I also don't swatch nail art anymore. I only wear it. That's my choice which means less posts, but more enjoyment with what I do.

As soon as I saw Stella Chroma Make It Rain, which is her March Polish Pickup, I knew I had to use it for a Mardi Gras mani (or two). I'll be back with swatches next week, but I knew I wanted to use it right away with art!

I wanted something fun and choatic and glittery. I have not done abstract art in so long, so I pulled out the easiest art, blobs and dots! When I started the blobs, I was like, this looks terrible. But trust the process. As you add more blobs, it starts to look way better. Then add the dots and it brings it all together!

Here are the festive colors:

  • Base: Girly Bits Irish I Were Beer
  • Green Blobs: Stella Chroma Make It Rain
  • Gold Blobs: Stella Chroma Long Term Parking
  • Purple Blobs: Stella Chroma 40 Comes After 39
  • Glitter Blobs: Poetry Cowgirl Faith Justice Power
  • Purple Dots: Zoya Giada
  • Green Dots: Zoya Giovanna

I love posing with my beads. I came back from Mardi Gras with bags and bags of beads, but I did buy a few as gifts and for myself. This is one of the sets I got. I wear them to work and throughout the day with pride!

I was playing with lighting and this is with only one OTT light. I don't know if you see the difference, but the colors and sparkle are a bit more vivid. I am not sure which way I like more. Both are color accurate though.

The sun came out! It has just been so grey this year! I have holos, glitters, and shimmers in this manicure. I just love how it works together. And that green I am holding is the Stella Chroma Polish Pickup for March so don't miss out on it!
