Polish Pickup has a relevant theme of Spring/Birds & Butterflies/Birds & Bees & Butterflies. LOL. I have seen three different themes, but you get it. We are moving into spring collections and spring colors, but I am still clenching onto darker and deeper colors. These polishes will be available this Friday, so here's some photos to finish off your wish list!
What a Big Boy!: 3 coats plus top coat.
Cost & Cap: $10, no cap.
Inspiration & Color Description: Light turquoise base with shimmer and black microglitter. Inspired by the Blue Morpho butterfly and only the males reflect turquoise with black outline of their wings and are amongst the largest of known butterflies.
Thoughts: I love the base of this blue. Not pale, no neon, not bright. It is a super unique shade and makes me happy! The glitter is nice too but it adds a little texture, so use top coat to make it smooth and shine!
Restoration Drops Polish Thinner
Cost and Cap: $7, no cap.
Description: "Over time, nail polish can get thick and stringy. This is due to the
evaporation of Butyl Acetate and Ethyl Acetate, two of the main
ingredients in all nail polishes that help the polish to dry on your
nails. To restore thick polish, use our KBShimmer polish thinner,
Restoration Drops. For slightly thickened polish, start with 2-3
drops, shake, then check the consistency. Repeat until you are happy
with the result. For dried out or severely thickened polish, we suggest
that you fill the bottle with thinner to the fill line, let it sit
overnight, and then shake in the morning.
Thoughts: So just for reference, I have used this product for years. I even have a picture of my second bottle to show you I actually use this! Yes, my SECOND bottle! I have purchased this product on my own. I have ruined so many polishes with terrible thinners. I have been wearing nail polish since the late 90s and have some polishes that are 20 years old. I have been going through and fixing my polishes slowly. In fact, this pushed me to pull out OPI Pirouette My Whistle to finally fix it up. It was sooo clumpy and dried out and now I can use it again.
With the Band: 3 coats plus top coat, then with matte top coat
Cost & Cap: $11, no cap.
Inspiration & Color Description: With The Band is a deep, navy blue jelly nail polish. Bold
color-shifting flakes mimic the feathers of the Nicobar pigeon, with
hues of red, orange, yellow, and green showing as you change your
viewing angle. At certain angles, hints of aqua come out to play,
especially in lower lighting, which will also show off the flakes best.
Thoughts: As someone who sees a lot of pigeons in NYC, I can attest that these birds really do have some beautiful coloring, despite their dirty rep LOL. I love a good flakie! I like to use thin coats so I can get more flakes on my nails! Everything dried down smoothly.
Emulsified Sugar Scrub in Crisp Anjou Pear
Cost & Cap: $6.50 for 2.5 oz jar, no cap
Scent: This month, we’re
scenting our rich sugar scrub with our juicy pear scent! It smells just
like you’ve bitten into a fresh pear.
Thoughts: Yup, this smells exactly as it sounds. I can attest that it is legit because my home is always filled with these pears because it is one of my favorite fruits. I literally bit into one and smelled this scrub--it's awesome. As usual, this is one of my favorite sugar scrubs. It's soft and gentle but gets the dead stuff off!
Snow Bird: 3 coats plus top coat, then with matte top coat. You can get away with two coats.
Cost & Cap: $13 for 15mL, no cap.
Inspiration & Color Description: This smoky grey shade was inspired by the Slate Backed Junco. It’s a
happy little songbird that is always the first to show up at our
backyard bird feeders in the winter. Their feathers shine purple in the
sun and we’ve reflected that in the strong purple shimmer. And we added
silver holo flakies as a nod to the snow.
Thoughts: This moody color is sooo me and it's perfect with the holo flakes and shimmer. The flakes in this are awesome. The shimmer hid for my camera--so I have some weird poses, because it was so visible to my eye and I was annoyed it was no showing up in photos. I can't wait to put this back on with some art!
These polishes and both & body products will be available March 5th-8th in the Polish Pickup shop. Shipping is flat rate $3 in the US and $5 to Canada.
