7th Blogging Anniversary: Rainbow Dots

Press Sample

Oh my! Today marks my blogging anniversary! My inaugural post was June 12, 2012 and I can't believe I've been blogging for 7 whole years! Cheers to that! Well I should have done a wool-themed manicure (LOL) for the traditional anniversary, I actually always post my birthday manicure on my blogging anniversary, since that's how I started! So as I cheers to another year and move into my eighth year blogging, let's talk about my nail art!

7th Blogging Anniversary: Rainbow Dots

I usually lean toward rainbow neon looks for my birthday manicure. I just love those two things. So to celebrate my birthday, I knew I wanted to use the pastel neons from KBShimmer. I've been playing with them a lot! As usual, I had plans to do this overly complicated art and last minute, decided to simplify. I think there's nothing more awesome than dotticures. I can't even try to count how many times I've done dotting art on my nails and on my blog.

I originally planned to do this over white but then decided to make this extra special with a silver holo! I love how the silver allows the cremes to pop! Ok the details!

I started with Stella Chroma I Suspect Nargles, which was the February Polish Pickup. It's no longer available, but I did want to use something special for my birthday! It has shifting shimmer and it's not just a simple holo.

Then I did a rainbow gradient with different sized dots. I used: Pink or Swim, Guava Nice Day, Papaya Don't Preach, Sand By Me, and Lime All Right. I topped it all with a coat of top coat and am still wearing it.

And because it's standard that I do this for my blog (and a lot of times, what I think sets me a part--I really always try to do as much lighting as possible), I was able to capture this manicure in the sun. I really love how the pastel cremes look against the sparkly holo. As you know, I'm not a huge holo fan, but this was perfect! So perfect, that I did this manicure on June 5th and am still wearing it today, June 12!!

The Seas the Day collection launches June 14th, 2019 and you can see my full post and details HERE. Stella Chroma I Suspect Nargles is a previous Polish Pickup, but might I suggest her new The Arch as a silver holo?

  4. Hi there! Congrats on your anniversary - looks that you find your real passion as your blog is active like for 7 years already! Wow, that's inspiring! Wishing you more great reviews and inspiring ideas! What about neons from KBShimmer? Where do you usually get those? Do you have any fav online or offline shop? If you really stay free of chips 7 days - that's incredible result, I should totally try this brand out. Meanwhile until now my best mate in terms of price/quality/result remains ZOYA ( usually order them from Enails eshop - color are smooth & buttery, in addition the quality is terrific, I wear it cheep-free up to 8 days, yet I'm considering to find good alternatives as well.
