Starbucks Bear Christmas Nail Art

Press Sample

I can't even with my nail art today! I was ahead of grading this past Monday and decided to treat myself to some time to myself to do some nail art. And oh my, I did! My local Starbucks had this adorable polar bear on their chalkboard wall. It was so so cute. So I snapped a photo. My darling said you're going to do that polar bear, snow globe and all, on your nails?! OH YES, OH YES I WILL. And I did!

Here is the image that inspired my manicure! I took a photo of it at my local Starbucks. Have you spots this image in yours? It's soooo cute!

I love the idea of a black-based holiday nail art. So unconventional! I will admit, this is not as accessible as my other art. The polar bear nail alone took thirty minutes haha. But the other nails were fairly simple and that's the motif I have on my right hand as well!

And then I wanted to matte it, since that's how it looks in the original image. It's like a chalkboard feel.

So I first drew everything with the white polish. Then I traced back over it with my chosen color. All those nails were fairly easy actually since the shapes are simple and whimsical.

The polar bear took so much time because I had to do the tiniest details. The snow globe was hard because it may look large, but it's super tiny! I just love how whimsical this is!

So today was Starbucks Happy Hour, we so trotted over to Starbucks to grab some Chestnut Praline lattes (our fave!!) and I attempted to take a photo with the drawing! Then I realized I forgot to matte my thumb hahaha. But oh my, I really love this mani!

So I've decided to enter this nail art into the Nail Polish Canada nail art contest. I wasn't planning on entering, but this polar bear just took so long and I love the end result. Yes, I'm still wearing it! You can vote for my art here if you think it's worthy!

  4. You are sooooooo talented! I can't believe you did this art freehand! Fabulous! Just curious, how long do you keep a special mani like this on your nails? It seems a shame to take it off!

    1. It was a lot of trial and error but I had a great inspiration. I usually wear art for about 3 day if possible. I knew I would have a busy week so I put this on Monday and am taking it off today Sunday. So I got to wear it a week!
