Sunflower Reverse Stamping Nail Art

 Press Sample

Oh hello there. I've realized that August is always a slow month blog-wise and so while I did these nails a month ago, I'm sharing them now haha. My darling surprised me (well told me two days before!) with tickets to a sunflower trail.  🌻 🌻🌻 Deep down, he totally gave me notice so I could do theme nails. My theme nails for events have dropped significantly, well, because life has changed! So I took advantage of it and did some fun nails!

I waffled back and forth about whether to hand paint them or to do some stamping. In the end, I realized it had been quite some time since I had stamped and I missed it  I had a few plates with sunflowers, but I chose this one because it was bundles of sunflowers

Here is a list of colors for my nails.

  • Base: Stella Chroma Turtle in the Clouds
  • Yellow: Morgan Taylor Glow Like a Star
  • Green: Zoya Josie
  • Brown: KBShimmer What the Fudge
  • Plate: Born Pretty Spring Garden L-007

To create this look, I started with Stella Chroma Turtle in the Clouds. Literally, it’s a gorgeous light sky blue with flakes. Stunning.

While the base dried, I did my stamping. I stamped the image with a white polish. The while the image was on the stamper, I took the yellow polish and “colored” in the flower petals. Then I used the brown for the center of the flower and a green for the leaves. This is all the same image.

As I stamped, I took a dotting tool and removed parts of the image so there was some variety. I let the image dry a little and then added a sticky base coat to my nail and stamped it! That’s the reverse stamping part of it.

It was sooo sunny and hot so I took some terrible pictures of my nails in the sunflower fields. But I need to show proof of my sunflower nails with sunflowers! 😂

Turtle in the Clouds was an older PPU polish. Sorry to burst your bubble. But she has loads of other gorgeous polishes!
