Zoya Twinkling Winter 2019, Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Hello everyone! Are you ready for winter polishes? Well, you have no choice. I have to be honest and say winter collections are usually my least favorite. Usually it's a lot of holiday reds and that's just not my favorite color of polish. But it also means that there are tons of sparkles, and I do love sparkles! So let's get to the collection!

Zoya Steph: 3 coats plus top coat (2 minor balding). "Muted Winter pink cream with a warm undertone." This has a nice light pink to it, which is nice if you want a break from deep winter colors. It will be a great art base for me.

Zoya Mai: 2 coats. "A sophisticated rosewood cream." This is my absolute favorite of the collection. Apparently, I love rosewood. Is that like a muted dusty pinky mauve? Whatever it is, I do love this color and the formula is excellent.

Zoya Tieran: 2 coats. "A medium toned charcoal cream." This is another favorite for me. Wouldn't this gradient beautifully with Mai? This has just enough blue in it to make it unique. Another one with a great formula.

Zoya Gabi: 2 coats. "A midnight purple aubergine cream." A nice purple creme, but nothing that screams unique to me. It does have a nice formula, so if you're in the mood for a great purple creme, here it is

Zoya Enza: 3 coats, but 2 is enough. "A medium macadamia cream." I much prefer this to Steph. It has a nice formula and I just love the color. It's almost mannequin hands for me. I can't wait to use this one for art! Again, other colors would gradient well with it.

Zoya Tanya: 2 coats. "A festive candy red cream." Yea this festive red creme super stained my nail bed and cuticles just by wearing it for a few minutes. Reds are usually never opaque on me, but this one is. The cost for this super shiny and opaque formula is staining. So wear base coat and be careful with removal. It is a gorgeous red though, so it bums me out.

Zoya Sedona: 2 coats. "A warm, spiced mahogany with a pearl effect." I love this sort of color for the holidays. It reminds me of hot cocoa by a fireplace. It's one of my favorites of the shimmers. If my nails look red, that's Tanya's fault LOL. This one is super pretty. Give me all the brown shimmers.

Zoya Rosa: 2 coats. "A bright and cheerful fuchsia with a pearl effect." This seems almost out of place for holidays but then I was thinking about how this is a fun New Year's Eve color!

Zoya Jett: 2 coats plus top coat. "Frosted silver with a flakey texture that dries down matte." This dDries matte but it wasn't pretty. I'm not sure top coat saved it. I like the concept of this polish but I think the chunky flakes which actually stick up (not good) combined with the heavy matte shimmer created a weird result. I applaud them for being different though!

Zoya Alessia: 2 coats. "Icy blue metallic with hints of silver." This is another favorite of mine. It's so bright and fun. I really like the finish on this blue and how bright it is yet it's still totally wintry and fits the holiday motif. I can't wait to return to this one!

Zoya Jen: 2 coats. Lightly stains. "A royal sapphire blue with a hint of purple." This is one rich blue! I do think the blues are the best in the collection. This one also glows and it's a very rich color. Just wear base coat.

Zoya Kaede: 1 coat over Zoya Jen. "A gold metallic fleck with holographic foil, the perfect overlay to pair with your favorite Zoya shade, or wear alone to dazzle the night away." This is definitely a fun and sparkly layering color. You could use it alone, but there would be a lot of empty spaces and I wasn't feeling it. This would be nice as a gradient or sandwiched in between a jelly polish.
