Morgan Taylor Little Miss Nutcracker, Holiday Mini Gift Set

Press Sample

Yesterday was the end of fall for me and today, we jump RIGHT into holiday collections! Today, I have the holiday gift set from Morgan Taylor from their Little Miss Nutcracker collection!

Morgan Taylor Little Miss Nutcracker, Holiday Mini Gift Set

Here's the adorable set. They always have cute packaging! The minis are 5ml. Now, I'm not a mini fan at all, especially when it comes to holding them. But I do LOVE the brushes on the minis of Morgan Taylor. They are still wide, making application a breeze.

The collection consists of 7 colors, and the mini set has 4. It does not have the blue shimmer, green glitter, and silver metallic.

Plum-Thing Magical: 2 coats. This is the star of the entire collection. So much so, that I think I need to hunt down a full size of it! Morgan Taylor calls this a Royal Purple Shimmer, way to undersell it! It's a rich plum polish with the most beautiful red/violet shimmer. It's magical!

Don't Toy with My Heart: 1-2 coats. One is fine but I used 2 for depth of shimmer. The shimmer is gold, but sort of subdued in the pigmentation of the red. It's a classic holiday red and this one is great. I love it because it stamps! I just knew it would when I put it on and you'll see below that it does work!

Just Tutu Much: 2 coats. This is your standard gold metallic, except it's not frosty! YESSSS. It's definitely a stamper as it was almost opaque in one coat except on one of my nails, so I did 2 overall. It's a great yellow gold, and it doesn't show brushstrokes! If you have ridges like me, you might want a ridge-filling base coat.

Silver in My Stocking: 1.5 coats with the dabbing method over Plum-Magical Thing and Don't Toy with My Heart.  This is a silver flake glitter in a sheer base that have silver shimmer. It's really pretty for the holidays. The bottle did require a little digging for the flakes but that's probably because it's a mini. I presume the full size may not have the digging issues.

Now for some art! I pulled out the Morgan Taylor Celebrations Stamping Plate and I used this adorable image below. I love that it's sort of a smorgasbord of Christmas images. I especially love that elf at the top!

I used Just Tutu Much as my base and stamped with Don't Toy with My Heart. Isn't it a great stamping polish?! I love how this came out. It took no time at all because the plate is etched well and it went on smoothly!

The gift set retails for $9.95 and individual full size lacquers retail for $9.

I wish I had gotten the full set of regular nail lacquers to show you because it seems like a cohesive collection and amazing to do art with. For some reason, green has been absent from so many mainstream holiday collections and it's mandatory for me. I know there's a green in this collection. I do have the full collection in gel, but I am inexperienced and not sure how they work for art. Maybe if I have a free moment, LOL.
