Favorite Nail Art of 2017 by Ehmkay Nails

 Press Sample

Like last year, instead of choosing my favorite polishes (because there were a lot!) and singling out brands, I like to focus on looking back at my nail art of the year. I tried to get it down to 17 and I was pretty close! Or not. But cheers to my last post of 2017. I hope you had an excellent year!

I'm going in chronological order, starting from last January. Everything is linked, so you can head to each specific post for polishes, techniques, promo codes, and more! I also excluded all my Pusheen manicures, since you can see them in my Pusheen Calendar Round-Up.

January 2017

Welcome to 2017 Art. Sparkles and glitter and gold! In love!

Stella Chroma Impossible Girl with Stamping. Impossible Girl is easily one of my favorite polishes ever and I just loved the simplicity of the stamping over the multichrome base.

February 2017

Peanut Butter and Jelly Nail Art: Oh my goodness, this made me squee! I did a bunch of cutesy Valentine's Day art this year and loved all the cheese.

Moon Hugging the Sky Nail Art: This was another cutest manicure, but it was so adorable.

Winter in Spring Nail Art: This was inspired by a Paint Nite painting. I just love browsing that site for inspiration.

Easter Pastel Dotticure: Sometimes the simplest art becomes my most favorite. I loved how easy these were but so sweet looking. Perfect for Easter.

May 2017

Unicorn Nail Art: This was my first time successfully reverse stamping! It was so fun to do. This is actually one of my most liked photos on Instagram too!

KBShimmer Neon Floral Nail Art: This is what I wore to Polish Con NYC which seems like forever ago! I loved the ease of this nail art and did it in a few colors!

Inspired by a Tissue Box Nail Art: I really find the most random inspirations, and this one was a tissue box. The design was weird and I loved it!

Pastel Neon Tie-Dye: My birthday nail art! And my post for my fifth blogging anniversary. I love pastel neons and I thought this manicure was super fun!

Gold Leaf Striping: Sometimes, the easiest manicures are the best. I really loved how striking this was. All it was, was tearing pieces of gold leaf!

Reverse Stamping with Cats: Once I figured out how to reverse stamp LOL, I couldn't stop. This cat plate was totally ridiculous, which means it was perfect.

Multichrome Gradient with Stamping: Well, this was love, for obvious reasons. I need to gradient multichromes more in my life!

Dots on Dots Dotticure: This was just an insane dotticure. So many dots. I love it.

Neon Leopard: I believe this was my first manicure of my semester, and my students were like whatttt is on her nails? Neon and leopard. YES.

Homer Simpson Donut Manicure: This was for my boyfriend's birthday. I baked him an epic Homer Simpson birthday cake (really, it was awesome). I coordinated my nails with the mini pink donuts I made and put around the cake. I'm extra.

October 2017

This month was difficult since I did about 20 nail arts between my Halloween challenge and just the month in general. So definitely browse that month for more art.

Autumn Branches: I'm always trying to think of new ways to use nail art glitter!

Charlie Brown and The Great Pumpkin Nail Art: Sometimes, I surprise myself. I absolutely was floored with how these came out!

Hocus Pocus Spell Book Nail Art: I also loved the end result of this. I like this it's a little fan fiction-y and not too obvious!

Acorn Reverse Stamping: This was another of my top posts on Instagram. I think for good reason. It also took me forever to do and scarred me a little lol.

Autumn Trees in Winter: I sort of have a theme going on! I just realized I did winter into spring nail art inspired by a Paint Nite painting and autumn into winter based on Paint Nite. I like this theme!

Winter Wonderland Nail Art:  This was a fun whimsical winter scene with a radial gradient. I love doing those and definitely want to incorporate them more in 2018.

Charlie Brown Christmas Nail Art: I was so happy with my Halloween look, that I wanted to do a Christmas look. This is more wintry, but I love it all the same!

I won't lie. I had to remove at least 10 nail arts from the initial list I made, and then kept making cuts. I did a lot of nail art this year, and I'm proud of that! Which ones did you love?

Thanks so much for sticking around my little blog. I made a goal in January to try to do 20 posts a month, and I went very much beyond that and that's because I loved sharing nail polish and art with you! See you in 2018!
