KBShimmer Growing Personality, Swatches and Review

 Press Sample

Ok well...do not judge me for posting a spring collection in September. I mean, most of these colors are totally awesome for fall and they are all still available. This collection released on April 18, but I just had nail break after nail break and it was frankly exhausting and had been so uninspiring for me. But of course, April ended up being an extremely stressful time as I was wrapping up my doctoral work, so there was a huge delay between nail breaks, and just being exhausted by my workload. Then I decided I would swatch the newer collections first and get those posted. Well...now it is September. Better late than never?

Growing Personality: As the earth warms and we venture outdoors, the urge to grow sends many to garden centers and nurseries. Packets of seeds and rich soil fill the carts, allowing ambitious gardeners to nurture sprouts into seedlings. Flats of colorful flowers and vegetables tempt shoppers, quickly adding vibrancy to garden beds where dragonflies and bees play. Others choose to cultivate indoors, where herbs and houseplants adorn windowsills and sunny corners. From fresh thyme to palm fronds, to tomatoes and petunias, a green thumb and a little time can make us all feel like we have a growing personality.

There is a farmers market sugar scrub which is a re-release from 2021 and you can see my original review HERE.

I Lily Love It - I Lily Love It is a warm-toned multichrome nail polish perfect for spring and summer. The coral-leaning pink base quickly shifts to rich hues of orange and gold. Sunlight or bright light enhances the pink tones and rusty orange shades. With two-coat coverage, this cheerful polish is a perfect warm-weather manicure.

I Lily Love It: 2 coats. You can see a little bit of nail line at two coats, but it was not enough for me to warrant a third coat even with my long nails. I love this one for autumn so even though I swatched this later on, I find the color to be gorgeous and perfect for the season. I love the shift. It would be awesome with some gradient stamped leaves.

Bumbling Around – Bumbling Around nail polish is a nod to bumblebees. This shifty yellow-orange shade captures their golden flash and the orange of the flowers they frequent. A near-lime green hue appears at angles, anchoring this shade like green stems and leaves. In bold lighting, hints of coppery pink may emerge. Full coverage in two coats, though longer nails may prefer three.

Bumbling Around: 3 coats. Obviously, my nails are quite long right now or at least when I swatched this because as I was swatching, I felt the want to chop them all off, so I needed three coats. I absolutely love this color because it’s that in between yellow and green and again, I am loving this for fall, even though this was a spring collection.

You Wish – You Wish is a pale, silvery gray nail polish loaded with holo glow flakes. This shimmery polish twinkles in the sun while copper shimmer sparkles. In lower light, golden hues morph into yellow, lime, and pale peach, creating an elegant polish perfect for year-round wear. Two coats provide full coverage for most.

You Wish: 2 coats. Love this color as sparkly neutrals are my favorite. I love the different shifts in the colors and that glowy flake. This is a year round color for me and I love it for winter and New Year's eve as well. It had a great formula as well.

Tulip To Apologize (G) – Tulip To Apologize is a fun, shimmery nail polish with a hidden feature; it glows in the dark! This delicate pink jelly polish is loaded with golden shimmer, making it appear a peachy salmon. When charged by the sun, this shade glows purple. Under blacklight, it reveals a more blue-toned glow, while indoor lighting may charge this polish to glow a pale white over time, we do not find that led lighting provides the strongest glow. Two to three coats provide full coverage for most. This polish dries textured, so follow with Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish.

Tulip To Apologize: 2 coats plus top coat. This is a fun and bright spring and summer color so I’m sure you got a lot out of it if you owned it already. It does dry very matte because of the shimmer and the glow aspect. The shimmer is super strong on this one. Because I took pictures outside with the sun, this one definitely appears purple with the glow.

Growing Personality (M)–  Growing Personality is a magnetic red polish that mimics velvety rose petals. A rich red base shimmers with hints of pink, while the magnetic pull reveals baby pink hues. In the light, the shimmer pops with vibrant pink, making it a fun base for both velvet-style and cat-eye magnetic looks. Best in two coats.

Growing Personality: 2 coats. I can definitely see how this is velvety. For all the magnetic polishes, I use the horseshoe magnet on three nails and a bar magnet on my ring nail. I think I actually like how the horseshoe effect looks as it’s not so in your face magnetic, but just gives you that little something extra that looks like crushed velvet. This is a fun color and I can see funky vampire nails with this one.

Best Fronds (M) –  Best Fronds is an illuminating moss-green magnetic polish. With a near-olive base, this shade shines best in velvet style, where a near-sage hue seems to glow as the magnetic pigment moves. Worn traditionally, the deep green base sparkles with micro holo glitters, while the magnetic line pops against the darker backdrop. Two coats provide coverage for most velvet style, though some may prefer three.

Best Fronds: 3 coats. This is such a funky color. I thought it would be much brighter on the nail, but it truly is a muted color. That’s perfect for Frankenstein or monster manicures and overall awesome for autumn. So yea, this delay actually kind of worked out? Pair this with I Lily Love It and it's like leaves and moss.

Root Awakening (M) -  Root Awakening is a soft beige magnetic polish designed for velvet manicures. Using a horseshoe magnet, the tan magnetic shimmer comes alive, creating a mesmerizing 3D effect against the jelly-black base. This neutral shade is perfect for those seeking a demure manicure. Two coats provide full coverage when worn velvet-style or unmagnetized, while cat-eye styles may require a third.

Root Awakening: 2 coats. Just as this says that when you use the horseshoe magnet, you actually need fewer coats. This one’s really unique as it looks silver in the bottle, but when you look up, there’s actually flecks of purple and it’s really pretty. It overall gives a tan/beige vibe. Again, it is awesome for fall.

Are You Floral? (M) - Are You Floral? is a magnetic polish inspired by vibrantly dyed orchids. A bright aqua-leaning blue magnetic effect takes center stage, catching the eye instantly. A rich purple shimmery base enhances the aqua with its grape-like hue and subtle twinkle. Worn in velvet style, it delivers a striking blue-forward manicure, while traditional magnet styles allow the purple shimmer to shine. Two coats provide full coverage for most.

Are You Floral?: 2 coats. To finish out the magnetics, this one is a blue with some purple shimmer and if you like magnetic, you will probably like this. I have enjoyed experimenting with the velvet look, and I have to say it does make me like magnetics more than I normally do even though it is not a finish that I personally gravitate towards. But now, this may be awesome with some spooky nail art over it!

Constant State Of Phlox (R) – Constant State Of Phlox is a bold purple-leaning reflective polish with a jelly base. It teeters between orchid and heliotrope purple, featuring a strong blue shimmer and pink reflective sparkle that shifts in different lighting. Flash or strong light enhances the bright pink reflective flecks. Best in two coats, follow with Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish.

Constant State Of Phlox: 2 coats plus top coat. While reflective is not my favorite finish. I do love the shade of this purple and the bright blue shimmer that comes with it. I do plan on keeping this one because it is so so pretty.

Blossom Job (R) – Blossom Job is a muted purple reflective polish that, with flash, mimics hydrangeas’ pink and blue tones. A soft purple jelly base enhances the polish’s vibrancy, making it the perfect sunny-day shade. Best worn in two coats, we recommend following with Smooth Moves before applying a glossy topcoat.

Blossom Job: 3 coats plus top coat. This one is just sort of meh in the bottle and it did not really excite me at first. This really needs three coats to shine and once you do get that there is quite some more dimension than what you see in the bottle so it actually grew on me and did win me over. It is particularly awesome with the reflective flash.

  1. I completely agree that many of these would work for fall. I haven't picked any of these up yet . I was waiting for your swatches 😂 Actually the Canadian stocklist just removed the extra tariffs so I plan to wait for her fall collection and I will pick up some of these as well. Great swatches . Thank you for all the accurate photos. Thanks for sharing. 💜

    1. Omg stop I’m so embarrassed 🙈 I just kept pushing these back but YAY perfect timing since you can save some money on the tariffs. I should have fall in my hand this weekend so I’ll try not to take three months to post lol. I really dig the velvet magnetic vibe now. Who am I?
