What’s Up Nails is known for their stamping polishes and plates. I
actually have not tried those products but I really wanted to do some
stamping to honor the brand. I mentioned in my swatch post that lots of the colors from the Gust of Wind collection gave me fall vibes. Originally, I was going to do some nail art over a neutral base, then switched up everything last minute!
It’s been a really long time since I’ve done reverse stamping and I remember how much work it is but how pretty the end result is. For some reason, with reverse stamping, I am just the messiest person ever. But oh my this just looks so gorgeous.
Colors used:
- Base: Mauvers and Shakers
- Plate: Beauty big bang XL – 064
- Stamping polish: Zoya Debbie
- Leaves: Used three of the What’s Up Nails colors
First, I started with two coats of What's Up Nails Mauvers and Shakers. I let it dry for about 5 to 10 minutes just so it wasn’t tacky.
While it was drying, I started making my stamping art. I first stamped the leaves with Zoya Debbie, which is a deep purple brown color. I didn’t want some thing like black as it would be too harsh. Then I started filling in the leaves with the three What's Up Nails colors: Bear Trap, Lush Orangery, and Tuscan Harvest. I chose these colors because they reminded me of leaves obviously. The great thing about reverse stamping is that when you’re filling in the art, it doesn’t need to be perfect.
While my base color was trying, my stamping images were drying as well. Then I put on a thin coat of latex border around my nail and sticky topcoat over my nail. After 15 seconds, I then stamped the image onto my nail, hence reverse stamping. I just love how this came out.
UPDATE: I forgot to post matte pictures and they are so gorgeous, so I had to share!
You can get all 6 polishes plus a magnet for $69.99 (which is 15% off of full value $82.75)! Otherwise, the colors retail for $12.75.
