Welcome to 2020 Nail Art

Press Sample

Hello 2020! We are officially a week into the new year and I took a well deserved hiatus!  I definitely plan for more time to myself while blogging. I want to make sure I'm always posting because I want to and not because I have to. I started off this year with rainbows and sparkles, and that pretty much sums up what I want my 2020 to be!

I already have so much to show you in the new year. But as 2020 continues, I have to look in a new direction for the blog. I used to be obsessed with posting every week day and taking the weekend off. As more people move to Snapchat and Instagram, I'm finding people just don't want to read anymore. It's really an epidemic. People just hate to read! So last year, I took off that pressure of posting 5 times a week and this year, I'll stick to that.

It doesn't help that I started the new year getting banned, yet again, from posting my blog on Facebook and Instagram. It's been a problem since the summer of 2018. Someone reported my blog once (boo on your for targeting my nails) and now, I continually get banned from posting my blog. It's definitely a disappointment since people don't read and now they can't even click a link to my blog. Sigh.

Anyway, I still love to do my nails and will share them with you, on a less pressure basis, but this will always be here! For New Year's Eve, I decided to go really simple with my new year manicure, but because the flakes are so colorful, this simple manicure looks AWESOME! I started off with a black base of the new KBShimmer Total Eclipse.
  • KBShimmer Total Eclipse: a one coat black
  • KBShimmer Off Tropic: multichrome flake with a purple rainbow base
  • KBShimmer Raking It In: multichrome flake with orange to green rainbow base
I layered on the multichrome flake top coat with Raking It In, then Off Tropic, then another coat of Raking It In. I really wanted that POW of the flakes!

Of course, I had to see how this looked matte! For the 2020, I used a gold stamping polish and painted the 2020 with a striping brush. I used a stamping polish because I didn't want the polish to dry too fast so I could stick the sequins on my nails. Because of the sequins, I did need two coats of top coat. But this mani lasted me quite a while!

I love the mixture of the colors of the flakes. It's just gorgeous! Despite the three coats of flakie top coat, this manicure was not thick at all!

All of these polishes are currently available and I love them! This was a great intro mani to the new year! I look forward to sharing lots of nail art with you this year!

  2. These are so beautiful! I'm sorry that someone has been a shit disturber. Sometimes people suck. I've also been noticing the same thing as well, people are more on instagram, facebook and youtube. I haven't decided if I'd be posting more on those platofrms as yet but it sucks that people just don't read like they used too.

  3. I love this matte! I can't believe people are being shitty and reporting you for no good reason. That must be super frustrating. I think that once you remove that pressure that we put on ourselves to post on a strict schedule, things will fall into place and we enjoy things much more.
