Hello there! I'm squeezing in this Polish Pickup post because I looked at the calendar and went, oops! I can't post this after Halloween (my original plan!). Polish Pickup is back on November 1 and you will definitely want the time to budget and buy it up. When I heard Fairy Tales was the theme, I grumbled. We just had Urban Legends and it's all sort of the same. But I love where the makers went and I can't wait to share them with you!

Thoughts: This muted brown is awesome! It has an almost orange-tinted base. It's loaded with shifting flakies and larger flakes. I love how it looks together. I got a giant chunk on my index and it laid completely flat! I put on top coat for shine. I just love how unique the base color is with the flakes.

Make a Banshee Blush: 3 coats plus top coat.
Cost & Cap: $9.50, no cap.
Inspiration: Banshees, if seen at all, are described as wearing white or
silver, with either red rimmed eyes from keening/wailing/crying, or carrying a
bowl of blood. A shimmery silver base with a GITD pink.
Thoughts: This is a fun silvery shimmer. I didn't even realize it glowed, which adds more fun. I've seen swatches with a strong glow, but it was medium for me. It's a nice holiday color for winter.

Inspiration: ""Sweetest Tongue, Sharpest Tooth" is a cotton-candy pink frosty metallic
with scattered flakes. Inspired by The Wedding Party in Neil Jordan's
"The Company of Wolves" - a mystical cinematic fairy tale for adults.
The retelling of Little Red Riding Hood explores
coming of age and the dark, unsettling power of sexuality through
hallucinogenic dream sequences and interwoven fantasy tales."
Thoughts: I feel like Fiendish Fancies is all about the unique metallics! I definitely don't have a cotton candy pink metallic! My nails are longer and there was a tiny bit of VNL at two coats so I did a third for photos, but it wasn't totally necessary. The flakes add nice dimension.

Tangled: 3 coats plus top coat.

Inspiration and Color Description: "Inspired by Rapunzel.
Tangled is a neutral with flair. It's a light smokey pink leaning lilac, with a pink, gold, purple, and green shifting shimmer and a dusting of holo flakes."
Thoughts: Neutral with flair is the perfect description! You can certainly layer this, but it is so pretty on its own. I have some VNL but I really didn't mind (and remember, I have super opaque nail lines). The shifting shimmer is really surprising. I love how the green just pops!

The Dark Crystal Sugar Scrub
Cost and Cap: $10, no cap.
Scent and Inspiration: In a land called Thra, two new races, the Skeksis and the
urRu came into being when a powerful crystal cracked. The evil Skeksis use this cracked crystal to
grant immortality. Jen, a Gelfling and
the hero of the story, learns that the crystal can be repaired if done before
the three suns aligned. This sets off
the quest that makes up the story of The Dark Crystal. The Dark Crystal sugar scrub is inspired by this story. Like the crystal from the movie, its rich
fuchsia color is warmed by the lush scent of amber. Sugar and citron combine with juicy plum
notes, accented by cashmere musk for a deep and complex scent.
Thoughts: So I have reviewed the scrub many times and I love the formula. The scent is where I think you'll be divided. All I smell is plums and raspberries with a bit of amber. But chatting with other bloggers, they smelled patchouli. I dig it! It's just funny how our noses pick up different notes.

Inspiration and Color Description: "We all have movies that we loved as children that can still
bring to mind fond memories when we look back on them as adults. For me, The
Neverending Story was one of them. Maybe
it was because I loved to read, but the thought of reading a book and becoming
part of the story was captivating to me.
Bastian, a young book-lover, steals The Neverending Story against the
wishes of a bookstore owner and is soon caught up in a world called Fantasia,
its fight against The Nothing, and a journey to save the Childlike
Empress. The Nothing is based on the cover art for The Neverending
Story. A magnetic polish, this shade
starts out as a rich emerald green color that shifts to navy blue. When a
magnet is used, the added array of holo glitters and pink-to-blue-shifting
micro flakes give this polish a galaxy-like feel."
Thoughts: This really could be opaque in one coat, but you want two for that magnetic effect. I love the effects of the colors in this. This is perfect for the cover! I love the specks in this. It's like him flying in the sky.

Inspiration and Color Description:
"Here at
Lollipop Posse Lacquer, we love a good old weird witch! That's why we
decided to pay tribute to the Baba Yaga, an enigmatic figure from
Russian/Slavic folklore who may appear to help or hinder. She traverses
the forest in her chicken-legged hut, and flies through the air in her
steel mortar and pestle. 'Chicken Legs & Mortars
& Pestles, Oh My!' is a black crelly packed with red/gold/green
shifting ultra chameleon chrome flakes, red/gold/green shifting
iridescent flakes, and holographic microflakies."
Thoughts: Yea, I think this might be my favorite Lollipop! I love the black base with those shifting flakes. As gorgeous as it is in my favorites, it's more amazing in person. I love this!

Name: Oat, Milk, and Honey Emulsified Sugar Scrub

Scent and Inspiration: “Somebody has been eating my porridge!” I loved the story of Goldilocks
and the Three Bears. Goldilocks happened upon the three bears’ cottage
and sat in their chairs, ate their porridge, and slept in their beds.
This scent is sweet and creamy just like a bowl of warm oatmeal.
Thoughts: I use Stella Chroma scrub all the time. I love that her formula is a little more soft. It's like a fluffy scrub! It literally smells like oatmeal made with milk and sweetened with honey. I love it! I definitely want to grab a larger size of this. It's just like a warm and comforting bowl of porridge!

Fountain of Fair Fortune: 3 coats plus top coat, then matte. One coat over Hey, Sailor!
Cost & Cap: $12 for 15mL, no cap.
Inspiration and Color Description: This polish was inspired by the fairy tale of the same name in the book
The Tales of Beedle the Bard, written by Harry Potter author JK
Rowling. The story is about a trio of witches and a knight who work
their way through an enchanted woods to bathe in The Fountain of Fair
Fortune. A sheer blue polish packed with shimmer and iridescent flakies,
this polish is meant to mimic the glimmer of sun across the top of
water.
Thoughts: Holy cow this color! Now, you can use this on its own, knowing that if you have opaque nail likes me, you'll have some VNL. I didn't care. I love how it looks that way. But it's also gorgeous as one coat over a base color. I chose a dark navy, but this is one of those polishes that will go with anything. It's basically a rainbow!
