13 Days of Halloween: Texture Candy Corn Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

I always wanted to do textured candy corn art. For some reason, when I think of Halloween, I think of candy corn. It's just so iconic, even though people eat it through Thanksgiving. I had one little bag that contained like 5 pieces, and I'm seriously done for the season. But that being said, I just love how they look and I have even more candy corn art after this! LOL. But this has been on my to-do list forever, so I wanted to finally do it.

So I had to dig deep into my stash for these colors and it was nice to use colors that I purchased a million years ago (details below). Since these hadn't been used in a lonnnggg time, they required some thinning. Typically, I like to thin polishes and let them sit for 24 hours, because it absorbs better. But I didn't do that this round.

I went into my stash list to figure out when these are from. Yup, I keep a very organized list of my polishes--including their release date, when I bought them, collection name and more! It's so helpful!

  • Yellow: OPI You're So Flippy Floppy from Beach Sandies Summer 2014
  • Orange: Julie G Tangerine Dream from Gumdrops Spring 2013 (this company is sadly no longer in business)
  • White: OPI Solitaire from Bond Girl Liquid Sands 2013

I simply did two layers of each color. I just did an arbitrary line across my nail. No tape, no ruler, I just went with it. Candy corn lines aren't perfect, so neither are mine!

Of course, you could do two coats of top coat for a super shiny look, but I wanted the texture. I should have stiletto'ed my nails to make this even more epic!

Have you worn textured polishes lately? It was a trend I was obsessed with, and now I want to bring the trend back! These are so fun!
