Born Pretty Dip Powder with Yellow Stamping

Press Sample

Hey all! Hope you had a great weekend! I'm just catching up with the blog after taking a few days off. I'm in the middle of grading final essays and I'm behind. It happens. Ten more days and I'm all done! Woo hoo! Anyway, I have two packages from Born Pretty, so I wanted to finish up this first one before I started the second. I have two different products, so let's look at them.

Born Pretty Dip Powder with Yellow Stamping

First, here is the dipping powder they sent. As you can see, it's sealed in a plastic wrapping. It also has a seal once you open it, and it all arrived in a sealed bag. There's no way this baby is spilling! It comes with a shadow applicator, so instead of dipping, I used it as a pigment to rub over black polish. This dipping powder is 10mL capacity. The color is Crystal Cave and it retails for $3.59.

So I did one coat of a black creme, then I added one coat of a sticky base coat. I used the eyeshadow applicator and began to rub the pigment over my nail. As you can see, it wasn't entirely smooth. I don't know if my sticky base coat wasn't sticky enough, or it was just how the pigment reacted. I did not top coat this because I find top coat messes with the color. This is a chameleon color, but the shift was really subtle.

Well then I decided to test out the yellow stamping polish. I actually already tested this on my mat and it's amazing! Well, you can see how well this polish stamps even over the darker color. I used the Spring Garden plate for the stamping below and I've just loved this plate! It's etched so well!

I love Born Pretty Stamping polishes. I always have success with them. This color is Bright Yellow Sprouts and it retails for $2.99. You can find the polish HERE. Stamping polishes need to be pigmented and look at how this yellow shows up! I matted the whole mani and it made the pigment on the bottom look awesome!
