Beauty Big Bang Holographic Multichrome Loose Powder

Press Sample

Good Morning! All the rage in the nail world are these loose powders. I had so much luck with the loose flakies from Beauty Big Bang, that my next order, I went with holographic powder. Since I don't really use gel (despire having two lamps, and about 75 gel polishes LOL), I tested this with regular polish. Well, I have more to learn, so I figured I would share my experience with you!

Here is how the powder comes. This color is "1" and you can see the rest of the colors HERE. It's sealed with a protectant seal inside, and it's also in a nice holo baggie when it comes. No spillage!

I started with a base of Jessica Phenom Exquisite, since the deep purple would play nicely with the powder I chose. I did two coats, and when it was still a little tacky, I used the brush applicator that came with the powder to rub it on. I think for the holo powders, I should have used my finger instead, OR, waited 5 more minutes for the base to dry, as I dented my nail. The more you rub, the smoother the holo look. To be honest, I liked the flakes, so I did a medium rub to keep some of the chunkiness.

Now you're asking, uhhhh, why is your ring nail a different color!? Well, that's because of top coat! I topped it with normal top coat, and the multichrome just disappeared. I asked around and it is suggested that you top with a water based top coat FIRST, then a normal one. OR, I think i would let my base dry, put top coat, then the powder. Learn from my mistakes!

As you can see, it didn't kill the holo, just the multichrome. It still does work with regular polish. It's super holo and gorgeous! This is in sunlight.

The shade shows off the gorgeous mulitchrome and you can really see how top coat killed the mulithcrome. It's actually still a really pretty color, in my opinion, but if it's not what you wanted, beware! Sorry for my mess--I'm just being real with how this looks without cleanup haha.

So there you have it. I have seen many other blogs use this powder from Beauty Big Bang and worked perfectly. Remember, pick up a water based top coat if you do not use gel. I plan on it and I will return to this powder! It's so pretty! Make sure to check out the 5 other colors of the multichrome holographic loose powder, use Mich10 for 10% off your order! I didn't even make a dent in the pod and it retails for $3.59. I assume you would get at least a dozen manicures out of it. Probably more, depending on your nail length.

    1. Thanks for your advice about the water based top coat. I'll definitely see if it helps not destroying the mulitchrome.

  3. You just slay with these powders. I should probably just suck it up and give this a try instead of drooling/living vicariously through your manis.

    1. I think for this price, it's great to try! I would be upset to be disappointed in the $35 powders!

  4. Those flakes look awesome! Perfect base color to show them off. Plus they seem fairly easy to use.

  5. I kinda really love the ring finger! Sure, it takes away from the multichrome, but you can see it barely coming through and it looks so pretty with the holo!
