Inspired by a Tissue Box? Abstract Dots and Floral Nail Art with KBShimmer

Partial Press Sample

I took yesterday off as I was enjoying my birthday! My boyfriend surprised me with a mini trip to Atlantic City. We couldn't go far as I have another trip in just a few days (ack on Friday!). I'm actually still in Atlantic City, and wore this mani last week. So I think it's official--this might be the weirdest place I've found nail art inspiration: a tissue box!

So here's the tissue box! I just buy tissues like any adult, but you know you're like me. You totally check out the boxes! There's usually beach scenes and florals. But when I saw this abstract floral and grass scenery (or what do you think it is?), I grabbed a few. Aren't they pretty?!

I started with a base of KBShimmer Shore Thing, which is like a muted but bright turquoise creme. Dusty turquoise? Then I dry brushed with Race Against Slime, Holy Kale, and Ready for a Good Lime.

Then I grabbed like 10 different colors and went to town painting circles within circles. There's way too many colors to write out but I used the new neons, the bleached neons, and Hugs and Kissies.

The last step was adding random lines. I used Race Against Slime, Let's Be Frank, and Double Pog Dare You.

So I've got three techniques here: Dry Brush, Dots, Lines. It's busy but I think it came together well. I wore it shiny, but here it is matte!

So what do you think of this look? I'm in love! I find inspiration in the most random places. Where's the oddest place you've found inspiration for art?
