13 Days of Halloween Nail Art: Spooky Skulls in Your Windows

Press Sample

I am loving this Halloween challenge, although I usually try to take the weekend off from the blog. October has not allowed that! So I was obsessed with my radial gradient in this manicure. I've actually never done one and I'm all about trying new techniques!

I mentioned in my Pusheen Ghost that the calendar inspired quite a few manicures. I loved this cartoon cutesy skull lurking in the top window, so I had to do that! I decided to add a glow to the window, just to make it seem like it was radiating and alive!

I started with one coat of a white creme. I then did a circular gradient with Zoya Sawyer (orange) around OPI I Just Can't Cope-cabana (yellow). Then I added a coat of KBShimmer You Dew You for a hint of shimmer. Trust me, it gave a pretty glow in person.

I then outlined a window in a black creme, filled it in. Then I drew in my cartoon skulls with Orly Power Packed. I used a black creme for the rest of the details.

I can say I really loved my gradient here, but I think my skulls were off balanced. Weirdly though, in person, so many people commented on this "amazing" manicure. Isn't that how it always is? The art we aren't obsessed with, everyone else is!
