13th Blogging Anniversary: Summer Neon Nail Art

Hello everyone! I am indeed still here but with a new title! So let me introduce, Dr. Ehmkay Nails. That’s right, during the first week of June I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation and it has been a whirlwind. After my defense, I totally shut down all work and went into play mode. But I am here now and back to share!

 

My birthday was two days after my defense, so I celebrated and then went to six Broadway shows in the ten days. I love to do something called rush, which is when you get day of tickets and I have not been able to do that due to my studies. I exhausted Mr. Ehmkay but he had fun with me. 

Not only that, June 12 was my 13th blogging anniversary. Typically, I post my birthday manicure on my blog anniversary. Well for my dissertation defense, I decided to do a custom white Stella Chroma and that is what I wore on my birthday as well. But I did not want to post that so I finally was able to pull out the new KBShimmer neon collection and dab into some fun and simple art. 

I know I am way behind on the last two KBShimmer collections. Although the spring collection has been out for a while, I still intend to post those and the new neon collection that just came out. So please give me time while I catch up. For a while, doing my nails was a nice break from my dissertation. But then it turned into that I was so tired, I could not think of doing my nails beyond a quick color. Ok novel over. As soon as I saw the Mix It Up 2 collection, I knew I would be obsessed. I love pastel neon cremes, and these are sort of pastel but bright. I love it.

I used the entire collection and here are the colors from top to bottom or left to right. I used Track Record, Playing Heart to Get, Juice the Cutest, Crimp My Style, Push Your Luck, Love Bytes, Smack Talking, Book It. Then I dabbed Ex-Static in random. I should have done a swipe over my nails because the dabbing adding bubbles but I liked the sporadic glitter. But it was not the polish that created bubbles, it was me and the dabs. I still love this. I got lots of comments on these nails!

 

I know this collection is black light reactive but I do not own a black light. But I went to Cabaret on Broadway last night and it was a VIBE! They actually make you cover up the camera on your phone. But this was after the show. I went to the rest room and they had black light in there. I took real quick shots so you can see which ones are more reactive!

 

Well, I know this past year I blogged a lot less but I still love doing my nails. So thank you for sticking around! I will hopefully get my backlog of swatches up soon!
