Memorial Day Nail Art

Hi everybody. I took an unexpected break mostly because my nails have been bumming me out. I don’t know what’s going on, but despite moisturizing and using cuticle oil, my nails simply do not grow. I’ve been trying various treatments so they haven’t been polished, but nothing is working. Mr. MK suggested that I do some red, white, and blue nails for Memorial Day so I figured let me just do it and share my super shorty and messy nails.

Not only are my nails not growing, I’m in the last parts of my dissertation and I am exhausted. Writing really takes a lot out of you. Sometimes I do not even have the energy to do a quick mani. I’m happy Mr. Ehmkay forced me to do my nails haha. I prefer them painted. And why not honor those for Memorial Day? 

 

 The colors are super simple! I went with a white base, but waffled on doing a pale blue base too.

• Base: Stella Chroma Selenite
• Red: Zoya Georgie 
• Blue: Zoya Cove
• Whiteish: Zoya Yuki (but it’s hard to see, but it's there!) 

I took advantage of the sun so you can see the sparkle in the base and then the glitters from Zoya. This was super simple and didn’t take much time at all. 

 

As I’ve been mentioning over the last few months, I am finishing up my doctorate, and so my nails simply haven’t been priority. To be honest, I think I will always enjoy doing my nails, but because they are so short and breaking, I haven’t. I really miss my long nails. But anyway, I will probably be disappearing for a little bit because I am defending my dissertation in less than two weeks. Am I freaking out? Yeah. Am I also thinking about what color I should put on my nails? For sure. Any suggestions?! I do have something in mind.
