Winter Abstract Nail Art

Contains Press Samples

Before I delve into pink and red manicures for Valentine's Day, I wanted to fit in a few more wintry nail arts. As I mentioned, I am going with less intricate art, especially because January has sort of crept up on me and I now have so much to do in very little time. It’s completely my fault, but it just seems that my nails and the blog are taking a back burner to the other priorities in my life. So for me when this happens, I love to throw on a quick nail art and I know you’ve seen this before, but I like redoing it in different color palettes.

I love a dry brush, nail art, and when you add some contrasting dots, it sort of elevates the lock. I wanted to do some blues and whites and glitters and so that’s what I did. I have a holo shimmer, finish, blue cremes, and then a bold glitter accent on my nail.

Here are all the colors that I used:

  • Base: KBShimmer Up to Snow Good, 3 coats but 2 was enough
  • Glitter: Morgan Taylor Diamonds Are My BFF
  • Lightest blue: Morgan Taylor Blue-Eyed Beauty
  • Medium blue: Zoya Walker
  • Dark blue: Jessica Cosmetics Bohemian Rhapsody

If you forgot how to do this nail art, it is super simple. First do your base color and let it dry for just a couple of minutes. Have no fear if you do the dent your base color because you can just do the art right over it as I did on my nail. Can you find my dent, lol? Once the base color dries for a little bit, then you want to take your contrasting colors and brush off as much color as possible before brushing it onto your nail. You will make mistakes as I did, and that’s totally OK. I did three different colors of dry brush, and then added some random dark blue dots just to bring it all together. You could also leave off the dots and it still looks amazing.  Top it all with topcoat and you’ve got fun nails in less than 20 minutes.

We finally got our first snow in over 2 years and it is supposed to snow again tomorrow, so these icy nails just feel right!
