Jessica Cosmetics Cabana Bay Coogi Squiggle Nail Art

Press Sample

Monday, I shared the Jessica Cosmetics Cabana Bay swatches, and now I have some art! I actually did the art first because I was inspired by the collection. I really set out to do random squiggles in different widths, but I really love how this came together. Sometimes, I don't really see how cohesive a collection is until I do art, and I think this proves how great the Cabana Bay collection is!

Because I did the art before swatching, I was not sure about the opacity of each polish. I opted to do a base of one coat white creme. Really, the only sheer one was the red, but I was happy to have that base to make the colors pop even more.

I started the colors at different points on the nail so there would be some variance. I believe I started with the orange, Bahama Mama. Sometimes it is in the center of the nail, other times, on the side. Because of the white base, I didn't have to use more than one coat except the red and the blue shimmer. I wore this on all ten nails and for a week! It was such a fun mani.

After I showed Mr. Ehmkay my nails, he said the squiggles and the coloring reminded him of Coogi sweaters and I was like oh my, YES! He was so spot on! If you don't know of Coogi sweaters, they are super colorful, fun patterned sweaters. Well, my dad still has his from the 90s because they are collector items now, so when I visited, I went through his stash and picked one to pose with. Thanks dad!

The Cabana Bay collection is available now and each color retails for $9. I can't wait to show you their new Phenom trio for summer, which again, transitions gorgeously into the fall!
