Jessica Cosmetics Cabana Bay Collection, Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Happy Monday! Today kicks off the first day of my semester and I'm back to teaching remote. I have to say, my laptop and internet are not cut out for this. My zoom session imploded ten minutes into it and I left my students in the dust, LOL. But I came back on and they were there waiting for me. Can you imagine your first class ever in college being on Zoom? I tried to be lighthearted but I feel their pain.

Anyway! Jessica Cosmetics sent me there summer collections and it was delayed due to COVID, but I am really not one to wear seasonal colors. I wear what I want! And many of these transition to fall, so I'm excited to share them with you!

I made two collages, because why not?! I love how these colors look together!

Alotta Colada: 3 coats, but 2 is fine, plus top coat. I wasn't sure about this one when I saw it in the bottle. But then I put it on and I really love how this looks on! It's a nice neutral with a flecky shimmer. It actually is flecks and if you look close, it's almost like copper. This is one of those palette cleanser colors.

Bahama Mama: 3 coats plus top coat. I do think this was basically opaque in two coats though but I did 3 to level it out. LOOOVE this orange! It is so bright and fun. It's like the ripest orange!

Caribbean Cooler: 2 coats plus top coat. This is the first of two purples in the collection. I love both and they will be a gorgeous gradient together. This one is perfectly summery! It's light but bright. It's almost like a neon, but not. Hahaha. So basically it is a very wearable bright lavender.

Grape Escape: 2 coats. This was almost a one coater! It is gorgeous! I love this shade of purple. It has just enough blue in it. It went on like a dream! So buttery and opaque. I did not experience staining either! And look at how shiny this is without top coat.

Lava Flow: 3 coats. This was actually opaque at 2 coats on the rest of my nail but my nail line is so opaque. This is a super shiny red. Reds always have VNL on me but this one isn't too bad. I wore it for about ten minutes and I was pleased that it did not stain me. This is a classic squishy red polish.

Tini Bikini: 3 coats. This is the duochrome of the collection. It's a real-based shimmer that shifts to a darker blue. In severe angles, you can see purple, but since it's mostly shades of blue, I call it a duochrome. This is a sheerer polish but that is because the shimmer needs to come through!

Each of these colors retail for $9 and they are available now! Even though companies might be announcing fall collections, I think these are all transitional shades. I mean, Bahama Mama is going to make an awesome pumpkin mani! Lava Flow also screams holiday cheer. So go ahead and grab yourself some pretties!
