Humboldt Soap Company: Cremeplexion Facial Moisturizer

Press Sample

I love to read a variety of beauty blogs to hear about new-to-me companies, new products, and so much more. I say I'm a beauty blogger, but this blog is 85% nails, and I really want to vary that up this year. I was reading Never Say Die Beauty and she posted about Cremeplexion, a facial moisturizer. I made a comment on the post (you can scroll down and see!) and the owner offered to send me a sample. WOW. When I e-mailed her and mentioned I would post the sample on my blog, she said she would send a full size. Talk about being proactive as an owner of a company! I don't think anyone has every offered me a free sample, no questions asked, based on a comment on a blog post. If this isn't telling you good things already, let's get to the product.

Let's talk about my facial skin: it's sensitive and combo. It's dry to the point that it has redness and some eczema cracks on my cheeks. But I'm also prone to breakouts, which is why I don't wear foundation, concealer, or anything on my face. Because I don't load on the makeup, I need to depend on having nice, clear skin. I also sweat. I know we all do, but I mean the NYC humidity, over heated buildings in the winter, and more, cause me to just melt off heavy facial moisturizers. So I need something super moisturizing for 20 degree days, but something that won't melt off my face in heavy indoor heating.

What intrigued me about Alison's post from Never Say Die Beauty was the ingredients.

Cremeplexion: this is a whipped moisturizer with argan oil, coconut oil, shea butter, vegetable glycerin, cocoa butter, collagen, and seaweed extract. These are all wonderful ingredients and together, it might sound super rich. Add in the Humboldt Soap Company's whipped formula, and you're in heaven. The scent is really just from the products above. I was nervous the natural elements might create a funky scent, but really, it's just a soft natural creme scent that disappears.

I tested this product for two months. I don't mess around when it comes to skin care on my face. During that time, my area had 60 degree days and 10 degree days. Seriously such fluctuating weather. Now on 60 degree days, remember heat doesn't turn off. I didn't sweat this product off at all! And absolutely no breakouts.

When I get out of the shower in the winter, I find my skin to feel very tight. I put about a pea sized amount on each side of my face--what's the equivalent to two peas? Seriously, it's like my very dehydrated skin takes a long drink. At the end of the day, even long walks in NYC wintry winds, my face still feels so nice!

As far as my eczema, although this product makes no claims to fix it, I haven't had any eczema cracks on my cheeks. I find redness has gone down a little bit, and my eczema bumps aren't as bad. As I mentioned, this product doesn't make a claim to fix eczema but it did NOT make mine any worse! That is music to my ears!

Lastly, the price. At $20, the price is amazing. As I mentioned, I've been using this every morning for 8 weeks, and this is how much I have left. And I'm not being conservation with my application. I put more on some days just because it feels so nice to put on. It's like whipped fluffy clouds absorbing into my skin!

Seriously thank you to Alison for introducing me to this product and thank you Arice for sending it. I will absolutely rebuy this and I can't recommend it enough!

  1. Thank you so much, Michelle, for the shoutout! I am so happy that you have had a good experience with Cremeplexion. I laughed when I read that on some days you put on more "because it feels so nice" - I do the same thing! I just love the consistency of this creme! From reading your wonderful review, I know you would absolutely love the new Body Mousse too - though they are divinely scented xoxo

  4. I'm in love with this. I introduced Allison to it when I was testing it for review and I knew she'd love it too. I'm so glad to read that it's a favorite of yours. I love celebrating an indie maker who puts her heart and soul into the products she makes.

    1. Thank you! I know two months might be ridiculous to test, but with my combo sensitive skin, I wanted to be thorough. It’s exclusively what I’ve been using on my face and I love it!
