November 2018 Polish Pickup Offerings

Press Sample

Hello all! So tomorrow is November's kickoff to Polish Pickup. Because of my 13 Days of Halloween nail art, which ended yesterday (tear...I can't wait until next October), I didn't get a chance to post the PPU polishes. I've decided from now on, I'll be posting them all at once. I think I'll be doing this from now on. It'll be easier for you to add them all to your wish list at once too! LOL.

Alter Ego Body Care Products: SHOP, Facebook, Instagram

Alter Ego Go to Hel, Hope for Heaven

Go to Hel, Hope for Heaven: 3 coats plus top coat.

Cost: $8.50 and no cap.

Inspiration: Hel, Norse G-ddess of the Dead.

Thoughts: This is a sheer grey to black thermal, definitely appropriate for someone who is in charge of the underworld. You'll be able to see that there is some undissolved pigment, and the maker already re-formulated it. My bottle arrived yesterday but I wasn't able to swatch it but I can definitely see that the issue was fixed. For now, it didn't bother me on the nail as it did how it appears in the bottle. The jelly thermal is super squishy and I like the musty grey base!

Girly Bits My Name is Elizabeth

My Name Is Elizabeth: 3 coats plus top coat.

Cost: $13 and no cap.

Inspiration: Queen Elizabeth II

Thoughts: This a regal polish for a regal woman. It's sort of an in between of magenta, red, and purple base. There's loads of shifting blue and purple flakes in the polish along with some shimmer and microglitter. I think the flakes are my favorite. I love how they pop off the base!

KBShimmer Some Like It Scot

Some Like It Scot: 2 coats.

Cost: $12 and no cap

Inspiration: Claire from Outlander

Thoughts:  This is such a rich emerald to blue to teal multichrome foil. There's some holo sparkle to it, but it's mostly a rich multichrome. This was basically opaque in one coat, so I tested it for stamping. I saw pictures of the dress that inspired the polish and I totally get it!

The polish is definitely a stamper. Here's a quick and dirty below!

 Stella Chroma Shop, Instagram, Facebook

Stella Chroma Badass Beekeeper

Badass Beekeeper: 1-2 coats.

Cost: $13, with $1 donated to the inspiration, no cap.

Inspiration: Pam wrote the most beautiful background to this polish, which is inspired by Courtney of 6 Harts polish. Having met Courtney in real life, I can attest to how awesome she is. She is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, and she is so so strong. How can we not be inspired by this badass woman?! She's also a beekeeper, and this polish is perfect for Courtney. In addition to the quarterly charity that Stella Chroma donates to, Pam will be donating $1 of each sold polish directly to Courtney to help offset the costs of her treatment.

Thoughts: The polish is super pigmented and can be a one coater. I like that this is a unique holo flame,  sort of scattered but rich. It's a the coolest brownish blackened color! It gives me vibes of Color Club Revvvolution from 500 years ago but this is a way better formula and it stamps!

And here is the polish stamped. It is much more obvious in person!

Stella Chroma Rosemary Mint Scrub: $5.50, no cap. $0.50 of each scrub sold will be directly donated to Courtney (along with a $1.00 from each nail polish). The scrub is one of my favorites and I've reviewed it many times on my blog. It exfoliates but it's so moisturizing. This is a very refreshing scent. It's herbal and just as the name suggests.
