First, I want to share some gift sets. Morgan Taylor always does nice gift sets that make for excellent stocking stuffers. There was also this makeup bag that was filled with Morgan Taylor React Max Base and Top Coat and Wish Upon a Starlet. I thought that the PR company just threw them in as extras, but now I'm wondering if this is also a gift set that will be available! I didn't take pictures of the base and top coats and Wish Upon a Starlet in below in my post. Definitely a cute set.

She's A Natural: 3 coats. Every holiday collection needs a neutral. I showed you a few earlier this week and this one is much more my style. It doesn't pull out my yellow undertones. It's a soft neutral and super flattering.

Blue-Eyed Beauty: 2 coats. Morgan Taylor calls this a baby blue, but it's a bit more richer than that. I was surprised this fully covered at 2 coats. I love that there's two lighter blues in this collection. Holidays don't need to be all about the reds.

The Camera Loves Me: 2 coats. A classic rich, burgundy creme. I know that this is one of those requisite holiday colors. I'm happy it's a true burgundy and not a black!

A Kiss From Marilyn: 2 coats. I've seen a million reds, but it couldn't be a Marilyn Monroe collection without a red! I have a ton of Morgan Taylor reds, but they do manage to have different tones. Just a slight bit more of blue or pink, and the red can be your perfect red. This one is bright, to match her lipstick! Also, as a note, reds like this will always show VNL on me, so that's why I did two coats.

Some Like It Red: 1 coat over A Kiss from Marilyn and Batting My Lashes. This is a bright red glitter that has different sized glitters and is in a pinky shimmer. You might be able to get this opaque, but I knew it wouldn't ever be opaque on my nails. I can't decide which way I like it more. I think over Batting My Lashes (the darker color) might win out a little, but over the red creme, it's totally a wow colors.

Batting My Lashes: 2 coats. So this is a mahogany creme color, and I thought it was just too close to comfort to Off the Grid, from the
African Safari Collection. Well, I did a quick comparison for myself, and this color is definitely way more brown while Off the Grid is more black. I know companies can dupe themselves and there's one company that's been doing it a lot, so I'm glad there's a difference in color. Again, this one will certainly stamp!

Ice or No Dice: 2 coats. Ok so Morgan Taylor calls this a gold glitter. This is like sort of in between gold and silver and yet, I kinda see green undertones. My eyes are playing with me. It's also more like a super sparkly shimmer. It's totally smooth and not rough like a glitter. Super festive!

Wish Upon A Starlet: 2 coats. This might be my favorite of the collection, which frankly shocks me as I'm not really a red shimmer kinda gal. The shimmer in this is like gold flecks and it's so beautiful. It's almost a one coater, but I did two because I wanted the depth of the beautiful shimmer. It will definitely stamp and I'll be back with nail art looks in December.

Hollywood's Sweetheart: 2 coats. This is a fun rosy pink creme and I feel like it's almost my mannequin hands. Again, I was surprised at the excellent formula! Cremes like this are usually spotty, but nope, gorgeous coverage in 2 coats.

Wrapped in Satin: 3 coats. The other blue! I shared this yesterday as my base to my Pusheen mani. It definitely needs a third coat as two had some unevenness. Morgan Taylor calls this a snow blue shimmer and I totally love that. Snow blue!

I Prefer Millionaires: 2 coats. This is such an odd color. They call it a copper plum and I guess that's accurate. I really don't know what to call it. Browned out burgundy? This one is a bit frosty, so the less brushstrokes the better. Again, this is almost a one coater and so it will make for a great stamper.

Diamonds are My BFF: 2 coats. Ultimate sparkle! LOVEEE. I feel like polishes like this are always loaded with holo glitter. You know what? I miss metallic glitter. I don't always need holo. This is a fine silver glitter, so it's not chunky. I love this color.

I think there's a nice mix of classic holiday colors and a mix of nice finishes. I like that quite a few of them can be one coaters now that I've used them which also means stampers!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big Marilyn fan, and I'm not not either. I find her interesting but I would LOVE that bag!!! I wonder if they sell those or if, like you said, maybe it was a PR thing. I'm collecting this collection one polish at a time. I think the colors are just brilliant
