December 2018 Polish Pickup Offerings

Press Sample

Polish Pickup is changing it up a little this month. Instead of the normal pre-order, every polish will be capped and ready to ship so that you can get your orders in time for the holidays. So please pay attention to the caps as some are very small!  I have four polishes and a sugar scrub this month. Some makers took off this month and I totally get why! Enjoy the holidays and enjoy these polishes!

December 2018 Polish Pickup Offerings

Alter Ego

Alter Ego Chione

Chione: 3 coats.

Cost & Cap: $11 and cap of 50.

Inspiration: Cynthia was inspired by photos she took of her backyard of a heavy snow. I literally thought of snow as soon as I saw this polish!

Thoughts: This is such a delicate wintry polish. I can see myself stamping white snowflakes over this! There's a little VNL but I didn't mind it. You won't have this issue if you have shorter nails. This built up nicely at three coats. I was surprised by the holo sparkle! I thought it was a shimmer, but nope, there's some nice holo shimmer in there!

Aurora Lacquer

Aurora Nymphony No. 9

Nymphony No. 9: 2 coats plus top coat.

Cost: $12, with a cap of 75

Inspiration: Based of the nymph, a beautiful young maiden who dwells near forest rivers.

Thoughts: This polish has a thicker formula. I will thin in for the next time I use it, as that is simply personal preference. I like how the flakes work together. This is a black-based polish but it's loaded with pink and turquoise flakes that the black base disappears. It turns into this shimmery deep purple polish. This is definitely one of those glowing polishes.

Fiendish Fancies Vengeful Spirits

Vengeful Spirits: 1-2 coats.

Cost & Cap: $12.50, cap of 20

Inspiration: Vinyan: The bleak haunted jungles where grief communes with spirits.

Thoughts: This is a blackened olive green has a smattering of color-shifting flakes and a nice golden shimmer. The weather has been so unpredictable, so I did a photo with less OTT lights, that way you can really see the shimmer. I appreciate that it's not so blackened that you can't tell it's not green. It's very much a gorgeous piney green and this one has a great formula, so it's a stamper!

Stella Chroma

Stella Chroma Sinking Sun

Sinking Sun: 2 coats plus top coat.

Cost & Cap: $12, cap of 90

Inspiration: A beautiful sunrise from Pam of Stella Chroma's backyard. The picture is amazing and I've never seen such a purple sunset!!!

Thoughts:  This polish is an orchid pink/purple base, filled with gold, blue, and charcoal flakies and a blue Aurora shimmer. Also, there's some gold holo glitter in the polish but it's not too much. Just enough for sparkle. I actually put this on Thanksgiving Thursday because my Thanksgiving nail art slid off in sheets in the shower. It wore like a champ through finishing cooking and then for days after! Despite the little bit of glitter, it was completely smooth and removed easily 5 days later.

Harvest Moon Sugar Scrub: Warm cinnamon with a hint of clove.

Cost & Cap: $5.50 and cap of 84.

Thoughts: I have reviewed Stella Chroma's dozens of times on this blog. It's an excellent formula that's creamy yet exfoliates. The Harvest Moon scent is delicious! I thought it would knock me on my butt with cinnamon, but rather, it smells like apple pie spice to me.  Now I want apple pie just thinking about how this smells. So I feel the description needs to be apple pie spice. I even get a hint of apple or I associate the scent with apple pie that my brain is playing tricks on me.
