Fair Maiden In Omnia Paratus with Umbrella Stamping

Press Sample and Custom Gift

Today is a super special nail polish day! If you didn't know, I am an avid Gilmore Girls fan. I watched the series with my mom while it aired on WB! Every Tuesday night, we would sit down and enjoy the show together! I went to college the last 2 seasons and my mom recorded it on VHS (HOW OLD AM I?! lol) and we would binge the season over weekends that I came home. So many memories! So when I won a custom with Fair Maiden, I knew I wanted it Gilmore themed! And better yet, there's an EVERY EPISODE EVER marathon on UP channel right now, so I've been binging myself haha!

As I mentioned, I won a custom with Fair Maiden Polish. I chose the quintessential scene from the episode "You Jump, I Jump Jack" which is from season 5! This is when Rory investigates The Life and Death Brigade and where the romance between Rory and Logan begins (meh, I'm Team Jess when he's older. High school Jess was awful). I named it IN OMNIA PARATUS which is the motto of "The Life and Death Brigade." This means "ready for all things."

I wanted a super pale linen blue base to match her dress, with copper beige shimmer like her sash, and dark blue flakes for the flowers and scarf on her dress. Well, this is what they came up with! It's a slightly darker blue and there's UCC flakes vs blue, but I am open to any maker's interpretation. I'm not a maker so I have no idea what works and what doesn't. This is 2 coats on my nails plus top coat.

I just wanted to share how much the shimmer pops in the sun! Isn't it pretty? It seems they added a bit of holo sparkle too!

Then I looked at my Lina Autumn 01 plate and noticed an umbrella image!! How perfect! The Life and Death Brigade do a scary activity each event, and this time, they jumped off a structure with umbrellas (and were tethered to harnesses). I used this new Born Pretty stamping white polish, which worked so well! This plate image was a huge pain! The Born Pretty stamping polish came just in time. It was the only white that remotely picked up this image! I was going to reverse stamp, but I wanted it subtle! It's 6ml for $2.99 and it was really good! I can't wait to use this stamping polish again!

  1. Love the Gilmore Girls! Although I was late to the party and started watching it on Netflix aftet the series ended. Im hoping they continue with more episodes after the year in the life season. I have so many questions! You picked a great scene for your inspiration and I love how you interpreted it into a polish.
