Polar Bears for the Eighth Night of Chanukah

This is down to the wire! My final nail art for Chanukah is Jewish polar bears! I have this adorable teddy bear from when I was a kid; his name is Dreidel and he holds a dreidel and has a blue yarmulke, so I decided to draw him on my nails!

My base is two coats of Pure Ice Blue Midnight, one of the new velour polishes. Then I alternated my nails with two glitters from Hit Polish, Festival of Lights and Blue Christmas. Festival of Lights has much more white microglitter and Blue Christmas has circular glitter. Definitely different enough to justify owning both! Then with white, black, and blue, I drew on my polar bears! I did this on both hands since I loved it so much!

I hope you all had a wonderful Chanukah and spent it with family, fun, and tons of latkes!

No Buy Haul!

I posted this album on Facebook and it got a lot of response so I figured I would post it here in case you missed it!

So before I went on a no buy with Jen from My Nail Polish Obsession, I may have splurged a bit. But not really. And I *may* have received some swaps after this. Let me just get to the polish.

First is an awesome care package from Jin at Superficially Colorful. She knows how much I love Ahava and these are all products I never had tried. The micro peel body wash is amazing! Also tucked in the corner is a little surprise from Jin and my friend Tina. They surprised me with Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily when I missed the pre-order due to no power during Hurricane Sandy.

Next are two more lemmings of my wishlist! Here Aragon, Gone Tomorrow Suede and Lincoln Park After Dark Suede! I'm only missing one more in the collection, You Don't Know Jacques Suede!

Now here are some of the most AMAZING glitters. Yes that good! Gina at Red Dog Designs really knows what she is doing. I will be showing you these this month. I'm wearing 8 Craaazy Nights here and already wore Mele Kalikimaka which is stunning and I will show you it in a few days.

Here are back shots to see how pretty the glitter is. You'll want to enlarge this:

Then I did a small Hit Polish order of her December LEs (ordered right before no buy, whoops). O Christmas Tree, Blue Christmas, and Enchanted December.

I also ordered two Zoya Dream boxes. One is a gift for my aunt (she is getting it today and won't see this!). Tori, Joan, Jo: Her name and her daughters. I got myself Blaze, Natty, and Aurora.

Lastly, my cyber Monday Elevation Order. El Cap and Stay Behind, Catch a Wave.

Butter London Scuppered and Cult Nails Iconic Dotticure

Here's a Fall-ish manicure that I recently wore and posted to my Instagram. It feels like winter already--I didn't even get to use all my autumn polishes.

I started with two coats of Butter London Scuppered. Do yourself a favor and enlarge these babies. Scuppered is more than a brown. It also has tiny pink (or purple) flecks and green glitter. It is sparse but in the most perfect way.

Then I added an accent nail with Cult Nails Iconic. I wasn't actually happy with this color so I gave it a new home. It's pretty but I wasn't as wow'ed as I thought I would be. I have other similar colors that make me happier. I then added dots in alternate colors with Wet N Wild by Fergie Ferguson Crest Syreh. So pretty!

Chanukah Dreidel Nail Art for Night #5

I have my next Chanukah nail art to show you! Today I did spinning dreidels over a gorgeous holo and glitter base.

First two coats of Milani 3D Holographic polish which is on clearance at CVS if you did not know. It doesn't exactly flatter my skintone, but with the glitter, it looks good. Then I added one coat of Red Dog Designs 8 Craaazy Nights, which is another winner from this indie. I have worn others and they will be on the blog next week. 8 Craaazy Nights is a matte blue, matter white, and satiny yellow glitter all in holo sparkle.

Then with Anise Chill Out, China Glaze Frostbite, and Color Club Take Me to Your Chateau, I painted on my spinning dreidels. I painted them with the letters of the dreidel "Nes Gadol Haya Sham" which translates to "A Great Miracle Happened There" which refers to the miracle of the oil lasting eight nights in Israel.

Next with a coat of Red Dog Designs 8 Craaazy Nights:

Lastly, for those in Israel, the driedel says "Nes Gadol Haya Po" which means "A Great Miracle Happened HERE" since it happened IN Israel. So I added the "po" to my thumb!
