I like nail studs since they can be a quick addition to your manicure. The following manicure added about 15 minutes to do my entire mani, and for me, that's cool! I also paired it with one of the new OPI Fall colors, so let's get to it.
Born Pretty Holographic Nail Studs with OPI This Isn't Greenland |
First, I started with three coats of OPI This Isn't Greenland. I'm not going to lie. This color is a dud. I saw swatches from two bloggers and it looked much more vibrant. I don't know if they messed with the photos or maybe my skin tone makes it dull. I had high hopes. I think it will be nice for art though. My boyfriend says it looks like wall paint in a big building. -_- lol.
Then I took out the holographic nail studs, which come in 6 colors. As you can see below, there is A TON to use, so I will have this set forever. There's holographic silver, gold, pink, purple, green, and blue. Originally I wanted to add these to a stamp, but for some reason, stamping has been hating me lately.

I did a ruffian manicure with them on my middle nails and a little three leaf look on my outer nails. My students claimed these were the most "normal" nails I have had all semester. Not sure if that's a good thing? LOL. The backs of these studs laid completely flat, so I only needed one coat of top coat to seal them in.

I did the nails Sunday night and on Tuesday morning, here's how they looked. I like that these are super flat, so they stayed put! As you can see, some of the color wore off. These will probably last better with a gel top coat.

The holographic nail studs retails for $1.99 and there's 6 different colors of nail studs. There's probably hundreds in that little wheel, so I imagine you get 100 manicures LOL. You can find thousands of other nail studs and nail art tools HERE.

This is a really great way to use these studs! Very cute design!
ReplyDeleteIt only took 15 minutes so that was a bonus!
DeleteI love the colorful stud accents. I bet it took forever!
ReplyDeleteNope. I put in the very beginning of my post that it only added 15 more minutes to my mani :)
DeleteI need to get this polish - it is the most exciting I've seen this Fall. The studs look so purrrty!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I got it. It was so different. I think it's just meh on my skin tone
DeleteThese are so fun. I can't say that I've ever seen holographic studs.
ReplyDeleteSame! It's more of a coating but still pretty.
DeleteI'm sorry you think this is a dud color. I absolutely adore it! And the pairing with those studs is so good I would have never thought of it.
ReplyDeleteI still like it. I just think it's not as vibrant on me as it is on others! The sparkle makes it seem brighter lol
DeleteThese are really pretty, such a shame your not keen on that colour I think its gorgeous great for this time of year x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a nice fall color. It just looked brighter on others!
DeleteLove this design. The sparkly colors somehow really work over that green.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too!
DeleteIt's a really unique color, but indeed, it is quite muted. There is a chance you could like Essie's 'Navigate her' more as it's slightly lighter and brighter than this one :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks more 'fresh' and vibrant on the nails.
