KBShimmer Summer Vibes Collection

 Press Sample

It's time for KBShimmer summer! Next week is the Polish and Beauty Expo hosted by KBShimmer, so if you are going, you can grab these in person! I always wish I could go but the expo happens when I teach a summer class and since I have never been to Chicago, I would prefer to make a trip out of it and simply cannot when I am teaching (it is an in-person class). Oh well! For now, I can share these with you and see the event through everyone's photographs.

This summer, KBShimmer is bringing you nine vibrant nail polish shades to help you feel those summer vibes. Sumptuous shimmers, shifty hues, flake-filled jellies, and a hint of sparkle bring a touch of summertime to your nails. Beat the heat with the coolest polishes, launching July 1st at KBShimmer and other online retailers. Each shade is available for $12, and the complete set for $96.

Just a heads up that I am currently getting my roof repaired, which is where I normally take my sun and shade pictures. Because of that I was only able to really get sun pictures because I couldn’t walk all over the roof, nor could I really see what I was doing because there is a white sealant currently and it is total snow blindness when you go outside LOL.

That’s My Jam: 2 coats plus top coat. That’s My Jam is a vibrant berry-colored nail polish with an illuminating finish and near magical color shifts. In some lights, this radiant red shade is as vibrant as a ripe cherry, but step outside, and a vivacious near fuchsia pink comes out to play. Other lighting brings out an orange-leaning red, for a complex shade perfect for summer pedicures. Best in two coats, this shade will captivate you with its colorful array of hues. This is a great Fourth of July red and a great red all year long. It’s very bright but not neon and applies really nicely. Topcoat evens it out, especially if you have ridges like me.  I had this on longer than I normally keep on swatches because I had to do something, and I am happy to report that there was no staining.

One In A Melon: 3 coats plus top coat. One In A Melon nail polish is a nod to summer melons. A vibrant neon pink jelly, this juicy shade is loaded with glowy flakes in hues of lime, coral, and pink. Subtle shifts in the flakes show off hints of yellow, gold, and orange. This jelly shade covers most nail lines in two to three coats. Follow with Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish. I love a neon for summer so I knew I would love this color, but I also knew it would never be opaque on my nails. Next time I wear this, I will probably layer it over. Mix It Up from the spring collection, which is a similar shade of pink. I love the pop of lime green too because for me, neon pink and lime green are a perfect match.

Stick With Me: 3 coats. Stick With Me is a shimmery nail polish with a soft pink base and shifting hues. Vibrant gold tones help this shade lean coral, while changes in angles and light bring out pops of orange, lime, and carnation. In some lights and angles, soft aqua and lavender may appear. This is another polish that I knew would never be opaque on my nails so I stopped at three coats. I would also probably layer this over an orange whether it be a bright or a pastel neon orange. This one shows brushstrokes, so be careful as you apply. This one felt a little 80s frost for me on its own lol. The shift is very striking so you’ll have fun with this one because as you move your nail, you see a different color.

Simply The Zest: 2 coats. Simply The Zest is a vibrant yellow-leaning chartreuse polish. A shifty shimmer takes this lemony polish from yellow, to lime, to gold. Holo glow flakes add a hint of sparkle and dimension to this illuminating shade.  Now I love this color. I probably won’t wear it on its own, but it will definitely be a staple in my nail art. Colors like this always end up getting discontinued so grab this one if you like it. It just reminds me of sunshine and makes me so happy. Formula is awesome for this type of color.

What A Catch: 2 coats. What A Catch nail polish is an eye-catching teal green shade. Pops of gold and peach appear in some lighting, while silvery holo glow flakes add sparkle and depth to this shifty shade. I love shades like this, but I can’t help but feel like déjà vu so I’ll have to pull out some other colors to see how different this one is (comps to come!). I know KBShimmer would not dupe themselves, but when you have so many polishes and want to be picky with your purchases, it’s important to know how similar colors are.

Swim Pickings: 2 coats plus top coat. Swim Pickings is a vibrant ultramarine jelly nail polish inspired by the pool. This blue jelly is amped with color-shifting flakes. Pops of pink, gold, green, blue, and aqua mimic swimmers, while a dusting of micro holographic glitters adds to that water-like feel. This is the same style polish of One in a Melon, but I found the base of this color to be thicker and a little gloopy. I didn’t shake it before I used it so make sure you do so.

Bucket List: 2 coats. Bucket List is a nod to those adventure-seekers. A deep indigo jelly base is loaded with micro flakes for a fun and colorful finish. A bold pink easily flips to lemony yellow and lime hues. Some angles have the base looking more purple, while bright light amplifies the pink flakes setting off a navy-like background. KBShimmer has been doing a lot of colors with this finish and since I love this finish, I am totally OK with that. I love that you can see a rainbow at every angle. I feel like this one will be a big seller despite it not being such an obvious summer color.

Aim To Breeze: 3 coats. Aim To Breeze is a vibrant magenta jelly nail polish.  A bold blue shimmer adds an inner glow that at certain angles appears almost indigo.  We recommend building up this jelly shade in three coats to maximize the squishy look and bright shimmer, but shorter nails may get full coverage in two coats. It’s a bright pink with blue shimmer. To me, I feel like I have seen this type of color before and wish there were some flakes or something to set it apart because I definitely have polishes like it. If you don’t have one like it, here’s a great one to pick up.

Give Me The Scoop: 3 coats. Give Me The Scoop is a soft and shifty lavender nail polish. The lavender base is quickly encompassed by a pink-leaning red shimmer, showing off peach, copper, and gold tones as your nails move. Some angles amp up the purple tones of the base, while a hint of holographic micro sparkle twinkles in the light. Another pretty color but again I feel like I’ve seen this before, but maybe a shade or two different from KBShimmer. If you like shifty polishes like this, then grab it because it’s certainly shifts all the colors of the rainbow and is very pretty.

  1. I usually wait for you to swatch before I order but I didn't this time. I think I chose wisely. I ordered 2 bottles of Simply the Zest because it's gorgeous. I ordered the flakey jellies and a couple others. I avoided the red and the streaky one. Overall great collection and I always appreciate all the time and accuracy you put into your swatches. Thank you so much for sharing. 💜

    1. My fault! I was so behind. Simply the Zest is awesome! One of my faves. I actually love the red, which surprised me. Is the streaky one Stick with It? Thank you so much for always checking out my blog and commenting. I so appreciate it. :)

    2. Yes that's the one but only because I have a polish so close in color. I love the red but I can't see me reaching for it. The first one i put on was One in a Melon 😍

    3. One in a Melon is so good! I have nothing like it. I feel like the red will be used a lot during the holidays but yea, not anything I plan to use right now. I get it!
