Reflective polish is all the rage right now, so when I saw KBShimmer's new Lounging Around collection, I was like, I need to put many of these all together for one epic reflective rainbow. Oh and it's almost St. Patrick's Day aka rainbow nail art? PERFECT. So that's what you have today y'all. A giant reflective rainbow!
My inspiration was literally me lining up the colors when they arrived and see just how rainbow-y they were. I knew I wanted to do a free-hand striped rainbow rather than a half circle because I knew it would not line up nicely on my nails. I started with a base of Harbor a Crush, which is a neon sky blue polish. I love that it is two coats and applies like a dream.
Then I used a striping brush and just went to town, one color at a time on all ten nails. I know it looks like it took forever, but doing one color at a time makes it go quickly. And this is also why I did not want a perfect half circle. You can't go wrong with this.
- Blue base: KBShimmer Harbor a Crush
Colors of the rainbow, closest to the cuticle then to tip of nail:
- Pink: KBShimmer Of Quartz
- Yellow: KBShimmer Mask Me Again
- Green: KBShimmer I Knead You Now
- Blue: KBShimmer Lounging Around
- Purple: KBShimmer Love You Brunches
- Magenta: KBShimmer There’s A Nap For That
- White Clouds: Duri Cosmetics Bunny Slope
After I completed the rainbow, I felt the blue looked a little empty and took a sheer off white and dabbed on clouds with my striping brush. I topped it all off with one coat of top coat and everything was smooth. I just love how this came out!
The Lounging Around collection releases TOMORROW! So you can look forward to these awesome polishes! They retail for $11 each.
