Yesterday I shared with you a few of the Vintage Anime collection from Kandee Johnson and now I'm sharing 4 of the 12 of the Pretty Vintage collection. This consists of 3 textures and 9 matte velvet polishes. I happened to get all the textures, so let's take a look.

Texture polishes were all the rage a few years ago! I loved them! I still have some, but I just don't wear them as often anymore. I love how they dry down matte and reveal a gorgeous sparkle. Now, these are different.
Pink Sugar: 3 coats. This is a pale bubblegum pink texture or "sugar" as they call it, with shimmer that's only in the bottle. I let all my textures dry down for at least ten minutes. They dry fast and this is how they look. The shimmer is nowhere on my nail. Also, these look like I dipped my nails in actual sugar. I do like the shade of pink though.

I added top coat to all of them to see if they shimmer came out. It didn't. Also, I'm not sure how many coats I would need to get these smooth so I vote that they are better with texture.

Pink Velvet: 3 coats. This is a rosy counterpart to Pink Sugar. There's a much stronger gold shimmer in this one which has me excited. But again, nothing on the nail. I think I would love this if the shimmer was more visible!

Mint Sugar: 3 coats. Same exact story as the other too. Shimmer isn't strong enough. My nails look dipped in sugar. Gorgeous base color omg, I need this in a matte, please and thank you (holy run-on sentence).

I can kind of see some shimmer if I squint. Can you? Maybe I've been staring at these pictures too long.

Cherry On Top: 3 coats. YESSSSS. I wish I got more mattes from this collection and now I'll have to go find them. Winner winner. I'm way more partial to this finish! 2 coats would be opaque on short nails but mine are somewhat longer right now.

With top coat, this is a very va va voom type color! I love it!

Overall, I bet the 9 mattes are amazing and I definitely want to find them. I would like the textures much more if the shimmer were chunkier as I don't love creme texture polishes. It literally looks like my hands are dipped in sugar and um, yea.

Cherry on Top is my favorite of these 4. I agree with you, I wish they would have made the shimmer and sparkles more dynamic. They seem to be hidden in the shimmer.

DeleteToo bad the shimmers in the texture ones didn't show up. Cherry On Top more than made up for the other 3 though! It's a beauty!
