KBShimmer Spotted, February 2024 Polish Pickup

Press Sample

Hey hey! More Polish Pickup just in time for this Friday! KBShimmer has a wild and fun offering inspired by our favorite 90s neon guru who had all the rainbow neon animals. Let’s check it out.

KBShimmer Sweet Cinnamon Roll Sugar Scrub – $10 – No Cap

Waking up in the morning to the sweet smell of cinnamon and caramelized sugar is heavenly. That gooey breakfast comfort food is the inspiration for our Sweet Cinnamon Roll Sugar Scrub. This deliciously scented scrub features top notes of cinnamon that pair perfectly with hints of caramelized brown sugar. A hint of nutmeg follows notes of sweet butter and baked bread for a scent so authentic, you would swear you had just baked some!

KBShimmer Spotted Nail Polish Topper - $12 – No Cap

Spotted is a nod to those wild animal prints. An array of neon-colored circle glitters adds a bold pop of color to your nails, while black circle and leopard spot glitters help give the spotted look that was so popular on those folders. For best results, pull your brush straight out of the bottle and dab glitters on the nail. Each Spotted nail polish will come with a small baggie filled with extra leopard spots for manual placement. Follow with your favorite glitter-smoothing top coat combo

Spotted: 2 dabbed coats plus top coat. I used KBShimmer Guava Nice Day (pink, 3 coats) and White Here White Now (white, 3 coats). If you have curved nails like me, then the leopard spots need to be placed on the flattest part of your nail. I would stick with just trying to get the neon dots out of the bottle and using the spare leopard spots to place them. The circle glitters did tend to get stuck together so I would have to dab those apart. The base was sort of thick and so I ended up having thick nails, after dabbing on the two coats. Once I top coated, everything was so thick, that the polishes wrinkled together and bubbled. I love this look but it took me quite a while to get the effect I have on my nails and I presume this would have taken forever to dry if I kept it on. This really depends on your nail shape.

Here is a super awkward picture to show the thickness. As I mentioned, I did very thin coats of my base and let it dry with ample time. You can also see what I mean about my curvy nails.

The polish and the sugar scrub will be available February 2nd through February 5th in the Polish Pickup shop. Shipping starts at $4 in the US and at cost to Canada.

  1. This is a fun manicure. Could this be sponged on? I never want to work too hard to get a fun manicure . I love the way it looks. Thanks for sharing. 💜

    1. Way late responding. Sorry! I might try it again with a sponge because I bet that would work better. Or maybe dumping some on foil and using a dotting tool to place?
