Fourth of July Nail Art: Popsicles, Fireworks, and More!

 Press Sample

I usually do not get too creative with Fourth of July art. Usually, I throw on some red, white, and blue nail polish, maybe a gradient, dots, and call it a day. I saw an adorable sweater on the LOFT website and actually bought it, and well, I just had to recreate it in my own way. Summer is all about popsicles and they are perfect on my nails.

So I originally was going to keep on my leopard print because I wanted to do this Popsicle look Friday, but got busy. Last night, I was like, nope, I really want to do this art, so hence the last minute post! Lol.

I love those red, white, and blue popsicles. While ice cream is great, when it's 4 million degrees outside with 250% humidity, I cannot handle milk product. I love ices!

My center nails are a glitter base, not meant to be full coverage but I did use a ridge filling base so there’s some coverage. My outer nails were the red and blue from the nail art, just to drive home the look.  Even though the sweater is only ice cream, I wanted to add some fireworks so I pulled out some fireworks stamping plates!

Below are the colors I used. Like my other art, I tested over TEN, yes ten, different blue cremes. It's funny, because at a point, I would have been like one blue creme is all I need. Clearly not. There are ones with more yellow or green undertones, some more neon, some dusty. It took me way too long to find the blue I wanted.

  • Glitter: 2 coats Zoya Eclipse and 1 coat of KBShimmer A Star is Formed
  • Blue: KBShimmer Double Pog Dare You
  • Red: Morgan Taylor Wish Upon a Starboard
  • White: KBShimmer White Here White Now (and stamped with it too)
  • Beige: Jessica Phenom You Make Me Blush
  • Black: Stella Chroma New Moon
  • Plate: Celebration BPX L013

I am absolutely obsessed with how these came out. Originally I was going to leave my outer nails the plain color but then I added the glitter and the stamping and it just pulled it all together. My thumb is the same as my pinky. I alternated the blue and red on my other hand so my left hand has two red nails and my right hand has two blue nails.

I hope you have a lovely and safe Fourth of July!
