Another month, another Polish Pickup. This one seems to have come so quickly because February 1st is also the first Friday of the month! This month is Iconic Duos and what's fun is some makers paired up, some did coordinating PPU and IPU products, and so this one is so fun!

Thoughts:
This polish has yellow
base with 2 different micas in it--one gives it a slight shifty to orange
& pink and the other is a super sparkly copper. This would be stunning over black as well. I have such an opaque nail line, so you can see a bit of it here, but wow, is this pretty or what? There's so much shimmer! The polish is completely smooth.The last photo is of it matte.

Ice Beard Oil

Thoughts:
This is a beard oil scented in Peppermint. Since it is an oil (and I don't have a beard!), I used this on my cuticles and it feels really rich. Like any oil, it's greasy and needs more time to settle it. It's a nice light minty scent. Very refreshing. My nails were so moisturized!

Inspiration: 1.21 Gigawatts! 1.21 Gigawatts? Great Scott! What the hell is a
Gigawatt?” Inspired by the famous duo of thunder and lightning, and
based on the infamous Hill Valley Lightning Storm from the movie Back to
the Future.
Thoughts: AURORA Nail Lacquer brings you “1.21 Gigawatts!!!” (pronounced jigga-watt), a deep navy UCC polish with red/gold UCC and multi-color flakies. This polish is so packed with color-shifting goodness it is like a thunderstorm in a bottle. Just watch the lightning strikes of color as this polish catches the light! The base is a nice sparkly blue but the flakes add so much dimension. You can see as I move around, the flakes look pink and magenta but turn to green, gold, and copper.

Inspiration: Clarence Worley and Alabama Whitman's "True Romance"
Thoughts: This is a bright pinky red polish with a purple teal sparkle and shifting flakes. There's a slight magnetic copper shift. I first swatched it as is, because I couldn't read the very clear description that explains it. But hey! This is gorgeous un-magnetized. It's a pinky red because it really does fall in between. Then, in the last three photos, you can see the copper shimmer that pops once you use a magnet.

Inspiration: Snoop Dogg and his unabashed love for the chronic.
Thoughts: This is a rich organic green with a
scattering of green unicorn flakes, while a linear holographic flame
adds sparkle and shine. This pot-inspired shade is scented with an
earthy faux cannabis fragrance blended with patchouli and clove notes. Ok, so the scent made me nervous. I really don't enjoy scented polish of any kind (BUT there WILL be an unscented version available). But the scent is very herbal and don't worry, it doesn't actually smell like cannabis. It's really just an earthy herbal scent. I swatched it on a nail wheel and could smell it two days later when I put it up against my nose. I love green so this polish is my jam.

A Distinct Aura of Dottiness: 3 coats, but would be 2 coats on shorter nails/less opaque nail line.

Inspiration: Luna Lovegood, paired with the Nargle-inspired shade from STELLA CHROMA I Suspect Nargles (see below).
Thoughts: This is a light, silvery-blue crelly filled with peachy/green shifting Aurora shimmer, holo micro flakes, and color-shifting iridescent flakes. OH EM GEE this color. It's a delicate color but the shimmer and flakes make it so complex. I love how it's almost icy, but it's just a beautiful shade. I need more Lollipop Posse in my life! I've added a matte photo in the end.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea behind this months theme and whish I was more excited about the polishes being offered. Sadly since Ive stepped away from nail polish almost completely since October and feeling a bit guilty about the amount of untried polishes sitting in my office that I feel like something has to be really spectacular or unique to justify making the purchase. I guess you could say I've lost my polish mojo. Your swatches are wonderful as usual.
