Welcome to 2018 Nail Art

Press Sample

Happy first day of 2018! As I've done in years past, I want to kick off 2018 with what I wore last night. I did a 2016 and a 2017 version of this manicure in black and gold. This year, with my newfound love of loose chameleon flakies, I wanted to do a rainbow version, and I love how it came out. I love starting the new year with nail art, as that's how I started this blog!

To create this look, I began with two coats of Morgan Taylor Don't Let the Frost Bite, a rich purple creme. I didn't do black because I wasn't sure how my numbers would pop but I'm sure it would have.

Then I added loose chameleon flakies from Beauty Big Bang once I applied the second coat, but while it was tacky (not when it was wet). I drew on 2018 over my four nails (and on my left hand!). Lastly, I added rainbow flat sequin type thingies.

This needed two coats of top coat to be smooth. I'm in love with the rainbow goodness and my take on this mani.

This is indirect lighting in my office, where the flakes seem to shift much better. The sequins all look the same color though! Each aspect of the mani looks different depending on the lighting.

Okay, today I quickly ran outside (it's so friggin cold!!), and snapped these pics. Forgive the tipwear. I put these on Saturday.

Can I leave these on all year? LOL. I love all the colors! Cheers to the upcoming year!
