OK, so I keep seeing tomato nail art and since I loved my blueberry and strawberry nail art from Fourth of July, I really wanted to do something with fruits or vegetables. I found a bunch of tomato nail art and manicures on Pinterest, but many were weird AI-created ones. I combined a bunch of tomato nail arts to create my own look. So let’s check it out.
It seems that vintage food patterns are on trend. Sardines were EVERYWHERE this year! World Market, Anthropologie, I mean so many stores had funky sardine and tomato patterns. I love it! I really wanted it on my nails.
Here are the colors I used:
- Tomato red: Jessica Cosmetics Broadway Bound
- Yellow: Jessica Cosmetics Sunglow
- Blue: Jessica Cosmetics Blue
- Dark green Jessica Cosmetics: Meet at the Plaza
- Spring green: Barry M Spring green
- Light green: Zoya Ness
- White: KBShimmer White Here White Now
It might be hard to see but layering the three different greens added lots of dimension. I originally mixed the red with the white for the tomato reflection, but I decided to go with the white. I love how the tomatoes are all different patterns. I like to think of the index nails as beefsteak tomatoes, the middle as tomatoes on the vine, the ring as grape tomatoes, and the pinky, Roma tomatoes. WHY NOT? I did want all cremes for this look, but that Jessica red was the perfect tomato red and it had a bit of shimmer. It has the tiniest bit of orange to make it perfect for a tomato shade.
These pictures were taken in my office lol, because I took this as soon as I did my nails and forgot to take actual photos with my OTT light. But it is perfectly summery. I am seriously obsessed with these nails. Seriously!
So what do you think about tomato nail art?
