Zoya Beachy Brights 2, Summer 2024

 Press Sample

Soooo hi! I swatched these like six weeks ago, sigh. After I completed my summer courses in mid-July, I went full mode into dissertation writing while also sick. So I have been going full force into my dissertation before I start back up with classes. So today I am sharing the newest collection from Zoya, which is an extension of last year‘s Beachy Brights, which were six mini-sized Zoya nail polishes. Five of those colors appear in this collection, but in full size. One of the colors did not reappear and I have no idea why so let’s take a look. Of course I will have some quick and dirty comparisons. I have been using these so much! I LOVE this collection so let's check it out.

**These colors are neon so they dry a bit matte but because it was so hot, I didn’t want to wait to put topcoat on. I took pictures of the creams without topcoats so you can see how they look as is. Some I really should have put on top coat because it is uneven, but oh well!**

Georgie: 3 coats plus top coat. A vibrant summer red with a holographic glitter finish. You could definitely get away with two thicker coats, but I opted with three thin coats because that is how I prefer to polish. This is so juicy and pretty. It’s definitely a pinky red rather than a straight red, at least in person.

Alora: coats. A summer maraschino red. I saved swatching this one for last because the mini version of this stained me so bad that I was really nervous. A couple of colors did leave some staining such as Avani and Marisol but a lint-free wipe fixes it. This did not stain as badly as last year, but I will admit that I was very quick with this swatch because I didn’t want to risk it. It’s a great red, but not some thing I gravitate towards.

Yohanna: 2 coats. An ultra-bright knockout pink.  Knockout pink is the most perfect description of this color. It is super hot, neon pink, and there are no qualms about it. Great formula.

Vita: 2 coats plus top coat. A reflective pink with a shimmering holographic finish. Holy Barbie pink! This one is such a bright pop of fun. It is also super sparkly and such a fun summer color. Great formula and surprisingly not sheer.

Loni: 2 coats. A juicy melon coral cream. I do prefer this over Yohanna just because I like the orange tones of it and I feel like it is a little more wearable for me. That being said, I love both these colors and the formulas are spot on. This one is just so pretty.

Bohdi: 3 coats. An ultra-bright Portland Orange cream. I had to Google what Portland Orange is because I frankly had no idea. Turns out it is the light color of the don’t walk signs in the United States and Canada. Who knew? I always thought that was red but Google showed me I was wrong. Either way I love this color and it is a total winner for me. This color has more of a jelly texture so it is a bit thinner, but if you have short nails, two coats will be enough. I will share a nail art with this with top coat but I also love this finish too.

Taji: 2 coats plus top coat. A vibrant lemon-yellow cream. This one needed a topcoat because it really wasn’t leveling out on its own. This one has ever so slight shimmer. I’m down for a good yellow and this will definitely be something that I use in my nail art because it’s vibrant with a decent formula. Just be careful with applying because I was a little sloppy, which is why it isn’t as leveled. Also this one isn’t really neon compared to the other colors.

Avani: 3 coats. An extra bright Key lime ice-cream green.  I love this green, but it is definitely patchy. So you want to be careful as you put on the coats to make sure you don’t get lots of bumps and certainly wear a ridge filler. I don’t wear green nails like this, but this is definitely a color I will use for nail art and you will see soon on the blog.

Marisol: 3 coats. A bold and audacious turquoise cream. This one also is a little patchy, but it is a beautiful, brilliant blue and I love it. I think if the weather were a bit cooler, that two coats is all you need, but it was a little patchy probably because of the heat in my room. Marisol was the first ever color of the month and I thought it looked strangely close to Pluto, which was part of the original Beachy Brights. You’ll see in my comparison that they are not the same and Marisol fits the motif much better.

Cove: 2 coats plus top coat. A holographic tropical teal with green reflections. This is a brilliant ocean blue. I wish I paid more attention to this collection because this color with Georgie would have made a totally gorgeous Fourth of July manicure. So now at least I know what I want to do for next year lol.

Brinkley: 2 coats. An ultra-bright raspberry magenta cream. This one is really pretty and really could be a careful one coater and that’s what makes it a perfect pedicure color. I have very visible nails so I did two coats. It looks like there is the slightest hint of shimmer, but it doesn’t really show up on the nail.

Soraya: 2 coats. An ultra-bright, creamy highlighter orchid purple cream. This one could also be a one coater because it is so opaque. It is a true neon and dries completely matte so I’m showing that as is. Two coats is all you need. My post last year mentioned that the polish stained, but I did not experience that this year.

I actually love this collection. I have used it for nail art many times. Some of the colors I would never wear on their own, but they are great for nail art. Even though five of them are repeats, it is nice to have the option of full size.
