Hello all. Today I have the first of two holiday trios from Zoya. I like the idea of smaller collections. They used to do massive 12-piece holiday collections and I feel like in this day and age, people simple cannot afford to buy 12 polishes at a time. But 3? That's way more approachable. This collection was inspired by Y2K. Why? I have no idea. But I remember Y2K very clearly!
Malana: 3 coats. A G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, a juicy bubblegum pink in a liquid holographic jelly formula. Holy cow this is like the pinkest pink I have ever seen. While it’s not a color I gravitate towards, it is definitely a throwback to colors I would have loved in middle school. There is a really pretty blue shimmer to this as well. Also, is this a Fergie reference? The flossie, flossieeeee.
Sparrow: 3 coats. A bright cyan jelly shade, this liquid holographic makes for a nice splashy look that has that boom boom pow! This one is super bright and fun and it has a purple shift that you could see in person but wanted to hide in photographs. Like the previous color, it was a little sheer at two coats so I preferred three to get rid of all of my nail line. Again this is totally Y2K color and I am assuming, yet again, named after Fergie since the description mentions boom boom pow.
Tamiah: 3 coats. A tart grape liquid jelly, infused with holographic sparkles, truly irreplaceable! I don't know if this one is also a Fergie reference, but I am trying to think of a song in 2000s with irreplaceable. I am sure it exists. This is just the Fergie collection to me, lol. To me, this color screams 2000 and I can remember getting purple shimmer polishes like this and sunglasses too haha. Remember those colored sunglasses that Britney used to wear? LOLLL,
So the Y2K is the most random theme ever, but it's fun and sparkly. The colors are atypical for the holidays, but the sparkle is perfect!

My favourite is "Sparrow", I love all shades of blue, but all three of them are gorgeous! :-)
ReplyDeleteSparrow is definitely the most wintry color too. I don't normally wear bubblegum pinks in the winter, so I gravitate towards Sparrow too.
