Good evening everyone! If you did not know, Chanukah started tonight! So a lot of people ask me why Chanukah is spelled so many ways. Hanukkah is correct too! Because Hebrew is an entirely different alphabet, the words must be transliterated vs translated. The letter "het" which is how you spelled Chanukah, does not translate exactly. But both spellings work!

Dreidels are a classic image for Chanukah. As children, we play this game usually with M&Ms or pennies! It is a four sided spinning top and there are four letters to represent how to play. The letters say "Nes Gadol Haya Sham" anywhere beyond Israel, which means "A Great Miracle Happened There." In Israel, "sham" is replace with "po" which means here! So I took the abstract dreidel shape and some spinning symbols for this look!

I used a base of Alter Ego Tanzanite, which I will share tomorrow. This is her color of the month for December. I knew I wanted to use this as a base since the blue is a festive Chanukah color. Then I used three Stella Chromas: Polaris (silver), Long Term Parking (gold), and Crown of Roses (rose gold). Polaris and Long Term Parking were just released, so you can grab those now! Crown of Roses is also available and it is one of my faves!

I decided to matte this even though it was gorgeous shiny. It was difficult to see on camera, but I think I love it more matte!
