Polish Pickup is sort of on a magic/supernatural kick. Last month was magic and this month is urban legends, which is also magical. Next month is fairy tales LOL. It's all the same to me, honestly, but I'm still excited to see how makers are inspired by very similar themes. Anyway, October and Halloween are just my favorite, so I'm loving the polishes here!

Riverdale Road Signs: 3 coats plus top coat.
Cost & Cap: $10, cap of 80 in US, 10 in UK.
Inspiration:
"Inspired by Riverdale Road in Colorado. There are stories about red spots
appearing and disappearing on the road signs there. When I was a kid,
my mom took us down this road and it scared the heeby-jeebies out of me."
Thoughts: Riverdale Road Signs is a light silver metallic polish with red flakies and holographic elements. If you have shorter nails, you'll get away with two coats. I love the pop of the red flakes in this one!

Lake Mendoza Bozho Serpent: 3 coats plus top coat.
Cost & Cap: $9, no cap.
Inspiration: "Bozho, whose name is a shortened version of either the
Potawatomi word “Manabozho” or the Algonquin word “Winnebozho”, was first
reported in the late 1860’s by a couple canoeing out on the lake. Bozho showed
up again nearly 20 years later on June 27th, 1883.
In 1892, multiple witnesses both onshore and
in the water reported seeing a large creature that resembled a snake undulating
through the water.
No cameras back in
that day, it was described as blackish green with silvery scales."
Thoughts: This is a blackish green with holo for the silvery scales which is similar to the serpent in the above story. This is such a rich and vampy color. It's super dark, but you can still see that it's clearly green. No staining to report on my end, but we are all different.

Inspiration: "Clive Barker's The Forbidden draws on the notorious urban legend of The
Candyman - a murderous bogeyman driven to sustain his legacy by killing
skeptics and doubters."
Thoughts: Inspired by honey, bees and raging flames, “Be Immortal” is a
yellow to orange thermal with red, black and gold flakes. Glows under
black light." This is a candy corn thermal and I am here for it! I love the addition of the flecks in this too. It's overall awesome!

Pumpkin Patch Scrub

Scent: "The chill in the air, the crunch of leaves, and seeing The Peanuts on TV
really let me know that fall has officially arrived.
It’s The Great
Pumpkin, Charlie Brown was a childhood favorite of mine, and one of my
earliest memories of hearing about an urban legend. Linus believed that
The Great Pumpkin would fly around and visit children, and leave toys
for children who believed. Though waiting in the pumpkin patch only
brought him disappointment, Linus still chose to believe. While it's
just an urban legend within a cartoon,
The Great Pumpkin still holds a
special place in my heart, and our Pumpkin Patch sugar scrub is a nod to
this classic children’s story."
Thoughts: "Pumpkin Patch starts with sweet notes of baked pumpkin and is accented

Hidden Agenda 2 coats plus top coat.

Inspiration: "There are many urban legends that persist in pop culture, but none more
so than Area 51. This military area has spawned rumors of hidden aliens
and spaceship sightings for years. Area 51 has been featured on
The
Simpsons and is so ingrained in our culture that there's even an event
planned this year for thousands of people to storm the area to find out
the truth. Area 51 and all of its mysteries is the inspiration for our
Urban Legend polish, Hidden Agenda."
Thoughts: "Hidden Agenda starts with a
base of muted slate blue that, when warmed, morphs into a soft dusty
pink, mimicking the sky at dusk. An alien green shimmer pops against
the thermal background. But, like Area 51, this polish shows it true
agenda in the dark, where you can watch it glow! Depending on the state
of the thermal, this polish can glow more yellow or green, and
sometimes shows both for a uniquely alien look." The description is spot on for this polish. I love the green shimmer in it. Of course, it was a warmer day, hence the shift I have. The glow is great!

Bonfire Bliss Emulsified Sugar Scrub

Scent: Because bonfires are the perfect place to share urban legends! Bonfire
Bliss is a complex scent - heliotrope, charted pine and cedar, amber,
and sandalwood with top notes of marshmallow, brown sugar, and vanilla.
Thoughts: I actually purchased this in a larger size a long time ago and it's just a beautiful scent. I love the Stella Chroma formula. It's creamy but still sheds off all the dead skin. This is a gorgeous scent.

Inspiration: "Inspired by that oh so shiver worthy urban legend that a
Twinkie left to its own devices will be just as delicious 50 years from
now as it is today! *herk* It’s
base color is the palest of yellows and it is filled with lots of gold
goodness - flakies, shimmer, and holo glitter."
Thoughts: The inspiration is hilarious. My students actually did a reading on Twinkies and never had them, so of course, I got them a box of Twinkies. The color is perfect. I should have posed with the Twinkie. I love this take on urban legends!
